Fox News Channel crushed MSNBC and CNN yet again during the busy news month of October, topping both networks combined among total viewers.
FNC averaged 1.7 million total viewers to finish as the most-watched basic cable network for the 28th straight month. Rupert Murdoch’s cable news network also topped all of basic cable during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. ET for the fifth consecutive month despite heavy competition from Major League Baseball playoffs and other major sporting events, such as NFL and NBA games.
Fox News averaged 2.8 million primetime viewers as ESPN averaged 2.7 million and TBS picked up 2.5 million to round out the top three. MSNBC finished fourth, averaging 1.5 million primetime viewers and CNN finished a dismal ninth while failing to crack the one-million viewer plateau and finishing behind networks such as Hallmark Channel and HGTV.

This article is not Earth shatter for it should be expected IMO. Anyone who only wants to tear down and go negative all the time becomes a psychic vampire on the general population. Looks like CNN and MSNBC are getting what they deserve and these numbers will effect their bottom line advertising revenue...I hope..

How far CNN has fallen, oh my... could not happen to a better group of bias fake news idiots IMO ...

I’ve been watching the ratings for quite a while. I think they are a better barometer for American political positions then any poll .
Americans are tuning out of the liberal lies and tuning in to Fox .
That can only be good for conservatives going into the midterms .

I guess that means Fox News is more mainstream than its competitors.

People still watch t.v????
What are the ratings like for all the internet news sites?
My guess is that the views that would be watching cnn/msnbc are watching online rather then on t.v.
Also could you post the age groups of the people watching each network?

It does include streaming services offered by the network in their ratings so if someone goes to CNN and live streams it counts. as for median age CNN is 61 and Fox is 66. As a general rule below 30 really doesn't even watch the news. The target group for news is aged 25 to 54, the target demographic for CNN is 33 % , compared with 22 % of MSNBC and 21% for Fox News. But keep in mind its lower numbers means fewer viewers in the target group even though it wins by percentage. CNN is losing money and if Trump didnt exist i have a feeling they wouldn't even be here. This is why their business model is to be confrontational with Trump you see it in everything from White House briefings etc.
