To isolate the US of A on the global stage. Check
To destabilise the EU and USA with refugee floods. Check

The only thing left is economic instability and they fully won on all scales and levels. But it's looking good for Russia. The fighting between left and right almost went terroristic. Clinton can't show her face anywhere anymore she is destroyed. Trump is the adversary to every other Western politician/state leader. Now Trump has to defend the borders with military.

The only one benefiting is Russia.

I agree with some parts of the OP.

Obviously it's in their best interest that our country experience instability.

However, I think the "They made Clinton lose" narrative feeds into their goal.

If we're being honest, Russian sources fed the dossier with negative Trump "intel", whether real or not.

They were playing both sides so that after the election we would have this debate no matter who won.

If Trump lost, many would still be looking into that and blaming them.

If we're being honest, the DNC lost because they loaded the deck to put up the only candidate disliked more than Trump, which many argue pushed some disgruntled Bernie supporters to Trump's camp.

I have this conversation with my liberal friends all the tie. I tell them if you guys ran an even remotely likeable candidate you would have won. They could have run a pile of cinder blocks and did better than her.
