The only protection against thumb downs is humour. It confuses people.

We like to explain how crap other members are. It's how we express our love for each other.

What uppers and downers would imply
is that sufficient people have read and replied to the thread
given the number of general votes and the overall balance...

You don't have to vote of course,
and you can always downvote
or even upvote, as your heart chooses !

But you can't change your mind later...

If it exists for flagging on Ats
it can't be that difficult
to re-write for "Thumbing"

And as you stated in the second paragraph ...." sufficient people have read and replied to the thread" .....a lot of times they are only glossed over in the first sentence or two, with most of the impression taken from the title... Even I am guilty early on. One needs to read the whole OP to determine a response, if one is even needed.

OK, ATS. The star and flag system is all great I guess, but why can't there also be a thumbs down button or something similar? I see so many people posting things that I don't agree with. I would like the opportunity to express my displeasure of certain posts, I am sure that others would agree. No need to revamp the whole score system, but it sure would be interesting to see how stars, and thumbs down stack up against each other on individual posts.

Seems only fair that people can disagree, and not just agree to what was written.

This isn't Facebook.
This isn't your echo chamber where you see only what the msm drones want you to see.

Grow up, learn to accept reality, and get over yourself.

Remember- you should never vote against something or someone just because you don't like them or it- always vote FOR something you agree with. Otherwise we only wind up with the laser evil, and not the greater good.

If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all. It keeps the peace.
