They wouldn't be the first to do what you so questionably politely suggest and of course you dont have to be based there it is just a location at end of day, however more importantly not all users are "based in the usa " thats for sure, its the amount of users who detirmine the total wealth no one uses no one cares.
So i unfortunately think you should practice what you preach and "Think it through" respectively.

I'd expect the entire world economy to tank completely overnight if a major EMP event happened.

That situation would become so unpredictable I highly doubt anyone could reliably manage a get-rich-quick scheme.

It would be like the zombie apocalypse except this time the zombies have guns and are smart because they aren't zombies they are freaked out crazy desperate humans.

Um I am pretty sure the sell off is due to he increase in the intrest rate.

I mean if people knew about an impending emp the market would drop a heck of a lot more then 3 or 4 percent.

I love me some doom porn... But in history, all some have to hear is the fed and interest rate hike and the stock market shakes a little. Also in order for an Emp to have a lasting impact that you indicate from the tumble in stocks the attackers would have to successfully detonate multiple nukes in our atmosphere in multiple strategic spots without our multiple lines of defense interfering to make it work. much easier to infect the masses with a virus and keep the working infrastructure in place.

I am sorry sincerely if ive given that impression, i more than welcome alternative views and value them.
In all fairness this is my first thread and i may be somewhat ignorant to my responsibilities as the OP, i assumed it was my responsibility to constructively defend the theory and thought innocently that was what i was doing.
However, with a multitude of other of topic events going on worldwide i don't think it's to much of a stretch to connect certain dots and see that the possibility of my theory is relevant. Hence my responses to posts.
At end of the day though it is just that a theory published on a site thats set up to explore through members the probability of that theory and let me assure you that i just as much as anyone hopes the theory does not eventuate.
My theory still makes perfect sense to me as does most other posts to my thread, but my theory does not mean its my belief as explained above.
Love all the inputs and interest and hope I've explained my position a bit better now.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. There are a few other issues facing the tech industry, such as data privacy. Google was going to participate with China in making a search engine in its country that censors searches and reports user activity to the government. There are lots of hacks that release user information. China is using information it collects on its citizens to make a social credit score. Information is very valuable but we give it away for free all the time.

If you look back a couple of months, Musk threatened the media and those who control it. Do you recall when Musk wanted a way to check the credibility of journalists and such? He also made remarks over those who 'own the media'.

Saw a video on YouTube afterwards that claimed that we should watch for the media to turn against Musk from now on. So far, since then, all I've seen are negative remarks from the media towards Musk and his companies. I believe Tesla stocks are reflecting the battle that's going on.
