This is something new and possibly historic if it is to be believed.

LINK

It's about time.

A Republican lawmaker is quoted by Fox News indicating imminent federal movement on the weed subject shortly after the midterm elections, possibly as soon as this spring. No other outlets seem to have picked up this nugget as of yet, but cannabis is big news nowadays, and this is sure to shake things up a bit.

The idea that even one more person should be arrested or criminally charged for the mere possession of marijuana is a moral abomination and an affront to reason.

Here's hoping the people in charge finally do the right thing.

I doubt it will be full legalization like it should be.

Sounds like a midterms strategy by the GOP. I hope it's true but I won't hold my breath.

Right wing going soft on pot? May be miracles happen. Can't help but think it is for the upcoming elections but will have very little substance.

My thoughts exactly - if he adopts a weed-for-votes strategy, he's got the midterms in the bag (pardon the pun)

I wonder what kind of taxes will be levied on MJ. Will we need a new federal department to oversee the way MJ is dispensed or will it fall under the purview of the AT&FA dept. We need more bureaucrats in DC, puting people to work.

oh, they probably won't tax it....

Dumb move. If the GOP wanted to reap the benefits of such a position change it needed to be done a year ago.

This approach means the Dems can take credit for the move since they'll have control of the House. Plus it's too far out to really have an impact on 2020.

Other outlets arent picking it up because it destroys their Trump bad narrative,

Does it matter really?

if it gets pushed through and goes a good way to fix the issue, what difference does it make? I swear some of you are never happy no matter what this guy does.

Despite that fact, what does he have to be desperate about? The left are destroying their base with their psycho antics, and are clearly in their death throws.....

You do realize that the Kavanaugh hearings that supposedly riled up the Republicans was only about a week ago and now no one cares, right?

The 24 hour news cycle has pretty much destroyed the impact of major events.
