This isn't a parody video. It's real.

It’s become a bare-knuckles affair with Hunter’s campaign running an ad saying his San Diego-born opponent, Ammar Campa-Najjar, changed his name to “hide his family’s ties to terrorism” and now wants to “infiltrate” Congress. Campa-Najjar responded by saying Hunter has lost his grip on reality.

The younger Hunter, a 41-year-old anti-tax, pro-military conservative, was expected to have an easy time in November until the indictments came in August. He and his wife, who served as his campaign chair, are accused of misusing more than $250,000 in campaign funds, including more than $400 on tequila shots at a bachelor party, $250 on airfare for a pet rabbit and $14,000 for an Italian vacation.

Putting aside that Duncan Hunter is already under the microscope for corruption allegations, has the world gone crazy? Seriously? The ad is completely bogus. It's plain racist. Ammar's Grandfather was onvolved in the planning of the Munich bombings, but his Grandfather died 16 years before Ammar was born. They've accused him of being endorsed by terrorist groups, completely baseless. Ammar is also a Christian. I mean putting this all aside, disagree with Ammar's political, left or right, is this what we've come to? This is the lowest of the low. And no I refuse to just push this aside as a minor political campaign... Duncan' Hunter's campaign represents how low of a bar we've set in this country. Unbelievable.

We're not talking about this on here at all?? Jesus, even following 9/11 I've never seen a campaign advertisement this outside of reality. Never.

I agree somewhat with your point and do find the ad distasteful. Hunter is anti-tax, pro-military. That seems to be an oxymoron to me.

I personally think a person's family says a lot about a person. I've raised the issue of Bush's heritage quite a few times. Obama's was certainly brought up. So I think the fact that his grandfather and father were pro-terrorist is an important point.

I have never liked the Jerry Springer/shock and awe approach I see in so many ads, left and right. I find them irritating, and regardless of the message or candidate, I always feel like I've lost IQ points when they're over.

If any of those allegations are true, I'm convinced there's a more mature approach to presenting them.

Pretty tasteless add, but I can see where intentions could be questioned:Campa-Najjar's paternal grandfather was Muhammad Yusuf al-Najjar, one of the terrorists who helped plot the Munich Massacre, which killed 11 Israelis.

I still dont agree with the ad tactics, but one of our nations weaknesses is how easy it is to bankroll somebody into power.

Absolutely tasteless...but yes, this is what we've come to. Policies and ideals be damned.
