Glad to hear you connected. A kiss and a cuddle means a lot, especially when it's in surprise form. Congratulations Daddy!

Careful on signing anything. If he was getting child support up to 18 there could be a state government out there somewhere that may want to bill you for those 18 years. Tell him to keep it a secret until you're absolutely sure there isn't a bureaucrat out there that could send you that bill. May want to check with a lawyer just to be safe. And the statue of limitations on that too. Better safe than sorry.

Wow, a round of blue cigars to celebrate!
How did you two find each other?
Which of your physical traits do you recognize in him?
Any mannerisms or interests or talents he seems to have inherited from you?
(I'm fascinated by surprises in the nature/nurture realm.)
He definitely resembles his mother, but he seems to have inherited my love for nature...hiking, climbing, hunting.
I'm sure exactly how he tracked me down. I'm sure his mother told him my name and probably had some photos. Probably facebook and a little foot work.

We caught a few perch a couple bass the other morning.
No real keepers but it was cool.
We're planning on going on a deer hunt next month.

Looks like you are making up for lost time.

It was very nice to see you so happy about this new found son, skunkape. We all could literally feel your joy jumping from your posts.

How happy your son must be to be so well received with joy and love by his father. Not all reunions are so harmonious.

When you go deer hunting, do you get all decked out in hunting gear, have the vanilla scent thingy and a tree stance? My Husband years ago was determined to get himself a deer. Knowing his passion for animals, even knowing he woud only kill the deer for meat, I knew he could not kill a deer. He insisted he could and would. He had a bow and arrows, was sitting up in his tree stance one day and he just happened to look down and staring back up at him was this beautiful big deer or buck. He said "Here I was all ready to kill this thing, but I looked into its eyes and...I couldn't do it." LOL

You have many joyful memories to make with your boy. The holdidays and all the rest of your days will be much sweeter, filled with laughter and love and making a bond that will last a life time.

He's been incommunicado for a couple of days.
I'm pretty sure he got lucky.
Go get'em son.

LOL very happy for you, and the fact that you are taking finding out you have a son that's 18 so well. Good for you.
For some reason, I didn't think you were old enough to have one that age.
Well, I guess, you could still be rather young yourself.

Sure hope it just keeps getting better and better for you.

Pertinent questions: Did you eat the fish you caught together? Or even worse, did you "lend" him some money?

We did not catch a fish worth eating.
He earns his own cash.
I bummed a smoke.
He bummed a beer.
