But not for the reasons you think.

Judge Kavanaugh's emotional denial was a necessity if he wanted to maintain his reputation but for a judge displaying emotion is dangerous. His opening statement was acceptable with the exception of alluding to conspiracy theories of 'Clinton hit jobs'. However, during his questioning at the hands of the Democratic Senators, he lost his cool on multiple occasions. In so doing, he has opened up the door for his demeanor to be called into question.

Why is this a problem? Because for a Supreme Court Judge or any judge for that matter demeanor is almost as important as education. A judges demeanor is extremely important because a calm judicial demeanor allows participants in the legal process to feel that their position is being heard and considered. Judges are often either censured for poor demeanor or removed from the bench altogether.

So, here is a hypothetical that is likely to occur. If Kavanaugh is confirmed, I believe everyone will agree there will be lingering anger from the Democrats. So, let's move forward in time to 2020 and let's make the assumption that the Democrats win the White House. Also, let us assume the Democrats have control of the Senate at that point in time. If that is indeed the case, I am willing to bet the house that they will begin impeachment proceedings against Kavanaugh based on his demeanor and his lack of impartiality. Then let us assume if they succeed in this impeachment. They will then be able to replace Kavanaugh with a liberal judge.

So, you may be thinking there is no way they can impeach him based on him calling out the opposing political party. Well, the only Justice ever removed from the Supreme Court, Samuel Chase, was due to his demeanor and him calling out the opposing political party.

Sticky political wicket.

There's the base. It's all about the base.

I was thinking the same. I mean, who can deny that the grilling was tough and that the man is only human.

However it shows a weakness. One that can be used again if needed.

I think you meant to post this in the ‘Joke’ forum.

You must have, because I cannot imagine anyone who typed up that OP to really expect to be taken seriously.

I got a laugh, though!

Honestly, I agree with you. After watching him I was thinking if he does get confirmed he is going to be democrats worst nightmare after what they did to him....

Then thinking objectively that should also not be the case. I feel like he is damaged goods now, a casualty of war. Think there has to be some sort of reconciliation process to ensure he is fit and "combat" ready after that.

Last, dang that guy sure likes his beer. I found that below what I would expect from a SCOTUS handling themselves.

I'll probably get flamed for that but just calling it like i saw it.

Its more important now than ever that we confirm this judge tomorrow. ANY nominee will be attacked and harassed by the members of the DNC both at work and inciting riots while they go out in their personal lives. The sooner we get our judicial branch in order, the sooner we can begin the process of having US Marshall's arresting the agitators who have turned this country into a circus.

America hating traitors will soon be held to account.

Yea.

A heavily unbalanced judicial system is a real good idea.

Real good.

You're not wrong.

Is there a place where we do have balance within our government?

As a person with an incredible resume gets smeared in the worst way, as his family feels the pain as much or more then he does what do you want? Do you want some robotic non-emotional thing on the SC? Some person who has no clue of the real world outside of law books, at least he is human and by all accounts of 100s of people that have known him for decades he has the upmost integrity.

BTW I hope the first thing he does is push for the reversal of Roe vs Wade...not because I'm religious in anyway, but why not....lol

I hear political trolling is becoming a legit career option due to exponential rise of punditry vs. journalism.

Have you thought about applying for a position at CNN? If not, you could always write for Bill Mahr on HBO.

Whatever you do, though, just don’t reply to this post with a pseudo intellectual and completely irrelevant remark that only serves to evade my question. The employers in the trolling industry look for that kind of weakness.

Right, because real human beings are the last people we'd want in control of anything.

It’s the one that you dodged.

You know, it was the one sentence in my last post that ended in a question mark.

I prefer a judge who gets angry at injustice.
