Obstruction of Justice?: White House Forbids FBI to Investigate Swetnick Allegations

WASHINGTON — The White House is limiting the scope of the FBI’s investigation into the sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, multiple people briefed on the matter told NBC News.

While the FBI will examine the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, the bureau has not been permitted to investigate the claims of Julie Swetnick, who has accused Kavanaugh of engaging in sexual misconduct at parties while he was a student at Georgetown Preparatory School in the 1980s, those people familiar with the investigation told NBC News. A White House official confirmed that Swetnick's claims will not be pursued as part of the reopened background investigation into Kavanaugh.

This is an obvious case of fast tracking a nominee for political reasons and in the face of serious allegations that will not be investigated properly.

In addition we can be sure that Judge Kavanaugh will not be tested for drugs, despite exhibiting behavior as he testified that indicates a reasonable suspicion that he may be a user of co*aine.

With or even without increased amounts of coke, these can progress to excitement, flightiness, emotional instability, restlessness, irritability, apprehension, inability to sit still, cold sweats, tremors, twitching of small muscles (especially of the eyes and other face muscles, fingers, feet), and muscle jerks.

This is not the sort of thing that will set people's minds at rest about a judge who could sit on the court for another thirty years, and who was appointed simply for his utility as a blocker in a looming impeachment process against President Trump.

I am not sure about Obstruction of Justice... I reckon this is murder...perhaps even genocide.

What criminal investigation is occurring?

If its not a criminal investigation how can there be obstruction of justice?

Here is the definition of obstruction of justice. I think the White House guidance on the FBI investigation of this matter meets it.

: the crime or act of willfully interfering with the process of justice and law especially by influencing, threatening, harming, or impeding a witness, potential witness, juror, or judicial or legal officer or by furnishing false information in or otherwise impeding an investigation or legal process

Kavanaugh is facing allegations from three different women (more?) and yet the FBI is permitted to look into only two of the allegations.

Are you trying to be taken seriously with this? I understand the FBI has also not been directly ordered to investigate whether Kavanaugh traded the family cow for a handful of magical beans as a child... is that obstruction of justice, or simply not wasting time of the inane and ridiculous (which Swetnick's allegations most certainly are)?

The white house can't impede anything. In fact they are starting this investigation.

Swetnik can file charges and get an investigation.

Swetnick is the gang-rape lady, right? Trump's order limits the FBI to investigating credible allegations that are currently known. Swetnick's allegations are laughably stupid, and not even remotely credible. (Let me get this straight, babe: You went to a party where you saw women being gang-raped, and you continued to go to the same sort of parties with the same people for another whole year? Uh-huh. Yeah, we can believe that ).

They got exactly the investigation they requested, so how is he obstructing anything?

Also old rich white guys interrogating a sexual assault/rape survivor would play great heading into the mid terms for democrats, and that is why they brought a woman in.

my God. IF there is any truth to her claims, let her file criminal charges. know why she wont? because if she did, she would open herself up to filing a false report and face legal consequences.
