I'd like to see a forum created

Don't expect anyone to care

But I think ATS needs to do one of 2 things:

1) create a poetry forum

2) change the short story forum, in name only, to poetry forum.

What you lovely guys and gals probably don't understand is that all short stories are poems written in verse, and furthermore, that all poems are essentially short(er) stories.

The short story is simply a long, stylized poem.

But by creating or re-labeling the forum to include poetry, you welcome all forms of poetry, instead of just the short story prose version.

I'm kind of wondering why I don't see more poetry on this site as in the days of yore.

Hey, who ever thought we'd get a pets forum?

Oh well! My thoughts and opinions don't have much weight but I still thought it would be fun to set them adrift on ATS.

A couple of years ago there were some "shenanigans" going on and we who participated in the short story forum were reminded that this is a conspiracy site and the official ATS poetry thread was created.

Short stories aren't necessarily poems. I think it's you that doesn't understand.

Ummm...that's right...we had some whiners that didn't care to realize that poems are in fact short stories...and wanted them booted from the short stories forum...

Then we had some genius relegate poetry to an single thread...then another hoopla ensued and the decision was to allow the poetry back in the short stories forum...

It all left a sour taste and the majority of poets just stopped posting...self included...

Maybe they should just change the name to the Creative Writing Forum.
That covers all ... including dirty limericks. LOL.

Collaborative Fiction is for writers only. SS is for everyone. It should stay that way.

at first blush - i would suggest - all such endevours to go under a " members fiction "`

but given the ammount of fiction thats posted across the spectrum - people might get confused

How would it hurt the site to create a poetry forum in BelowTopSecret or "off topic" as it's now called?

I don't know much about tech or code but is it that hard to create a new forum?

I think that if created that forum would see a lot of traffic.
