So we have the DC universe... And Marvel...

But theres also the Xmen which technically are marvel but are separated from the super hero's of the Avengers... excluding in some small cases like "quick silver" who is in both Avengers and Xmen… and a few others

Now I've never been a comic book guy... so I am basing this purely on the movies, and personally I love every single one of them!

I look forward to every release that is coming... Like infinity war 2... Dark Pheniox... Doctor Strange 2... and anything else in the future

So... which franchise is your favorite

And why?

I'm actually not sure of which copied the other but many of their characters and back stories are very similar.

There also were alternate universes in both which suggest that they could be crossovers of each other at times.

Well I like the captain America and hulk brand and the wolverine types
I think Deadpool was probably one of the best movies made and the second deadpool was pretty good as well, as good as the first
Not a fan of the batman superman movies as much but when Heath Ledger played the joker, that movie was good
Not a big fan of Star Wars either

Is there even something that could be considered a "DC ""universe"""?

I come from the 80s comic fan world all the way to present, though I dropped comics when I moved to Asia in 1999.

If we're talking characters then Marvel wins overall, though DC has a few that I love Batman being top of the list.

If you're referring to movie universes then Marvel kicks DC's butt all over the place except that Dark Knight and the first Keaton Batman film are great.

TV show land - Marvel kicks DC butt all over the place easily with Daredevil, Punisher and Iron Fist (Season 2 though).

I was just thinking and talking to a friend the other day, my favorite 2 super heroes are mostly human - Batman and Daredevil. Deadpool and Wolverine are 3rd and 4th though the Wolverine movies have sucked for the most part, the last one was mostly good though.

And I have never liked Superman, he's not actually human.

Comic wise. I've always liked the DC universe.
If you want to see a good representation of the DC Universe watch justice league cartoons. If you haven't already.

However when it comes to the movies. Marvel has everyone beat.

The best universe? Loony Tunes of course...

Marvel if those are the only choices.

That would be the Hyborian Universe.

Well on Galactus would simply eat Brainiac as an entre before going on to eat all those new alternate universe world's.

Superman would have met his match in the silver surfer as well and against a galactic entity that could grant superpowers to rival his own on a whim.

But in the comic book world it's an endless game of one-up-man-ship.

Personally since it was my comic of choice I would go with the late 1980's 2000AD universe - actually the comic had several universes not a single contiguous one but to pick one there was Slain (a time and universe travelling Celtic warrior endowed with the curse/gift of earth power that made the hulk look tame) or Nemesis (an alien God like being whom was in a perpetual war against an Evil human empire which was bent upon the destruction of all alien life) or the ABC Warriors and Judge Dredd (his arch nemesis Judge Death was from a parallel reality and had decided that life itself was a crime) - they shared a universe - or the Ballad of Halo Jones whom lived in a dystopian future had no real superpowers but was a very interesting character (her creators left after the publisher would not allow them to complete the epic story they had in mind which is a shame), then there was Rogue Trooper and The Stainless Steel Rat as well as several other characters often with there own unique universe and best of all the Future Shock Series a collection of short story's set in all manner of alternate universe.

I give Marvel the edge. They make a better movie. I used to read tons of comics at my cousin house when I was a little dude.

'Zap' comics are the best ever.
I also dig the old Warren pulications like 'Eerie' and 'Creepy.'

Fun fact:

In Germany and I think UK too, it was renamed to "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" and you almost never got to see the "fork daggers".

When our kids where young, there was a publice debate about them being too brutal for kids.

The word "ninja" was too brutal, that´s why they changed to ..."Hero Turtles". However my wife got TMNT fabrics from our relatives in canada and so it stuck out like a sore thumb in kindergarten...by accident

Even with Superman at the top of my list, I would still have to go with Marvel. Mainly because they use real world locations in their comics. Adds to the imagination and reading for me. I do love the Man of Steel and Justice League movies though.
