After reading more about that case I don't think the odds will be that good. If they would have stopped after the first two shots when Howard was allegedly armed with a bat they might have had a better chance, but they shot him three more times while he was on the ground.

yes i have caps. i use the every now and then for thread titles and names of people if i really care about them. other than that i can be bothered.

After reviewing the video, I see a very large and angry drunk guy attack two other guys. Look at this guy's temper? No sh*t they went out there armed, to talk. The argument may have been over a mattress but not the shooting. The wife even provoking them saying they wont shoot, probably gave the guy some "courage" to make his move, and it cost him.

The way I’ve heard this reported, baseball bat guy kept throwing mattress in alley dumpster in effort to dispose of it. Older big guy with gun kept pulling it out of dumpster and throwing it back in baseball bat guys yard (guess he thought it took up too much space). Could be considered “dumping”, but gun guy could have reported to code enforcement if that’s the case.

I think a jury could easily be convinced by a prosecutor that gun guy provoked it, which means stand your ground may go a very different way. The bond on these two was $25k each. Was raised to $250k each after this video was released, which is probably an indicator.

I am a licensed to carry individual in Texas. This behavior gun guys demonstrated is contrary to everything gone over in class...at least the one I attended. And the video makes it pretty obvious they weren’t in “fear” of anything.

They were all 3 in the wrong

I see two parties in the wrong. The instigating on both sides was at least inappropriate and possibly criminal. Four shots being fired is why these people are going to jail.

I watched the vid and I think he deserved what happened .. he got shot because he went to get his gun after threats to kill both men holding the guns .. just silly when he’s got his child with him .. bail was 25 grand so at least they are out of prison at the moment 👍

dude was an obnoxious asshole for sure

having said that he got shot cause the two fat cowboys couldnt just be adults and walk away.

thats how i see it

That's crazy talk mate grab a gun or a knife to enforce your place in the pecking order, like real cowboys.
I prefer injury and being put in my place over death for sure.
The shooter was a coward and needlessly killed someone when a broken nose and jaw would have been enough.
