Liberals, you just don't get it when it comes to taxes, money, and the the rich. You think taxing the rich is going pay for healthcare, college, and God knows what else. What you need to understand is that taxes are income tax, not wealth tax.

You could tax the income of the three richest men in the United States at 100pct and you would get a little over $175,000 plus 15pct of whatever stock they sold. So if they each sold 100 million in stock a year you would get another $45 million. But they could control that by selling less stock.

To clarify, Jeff Bezos gets paid $80,000/year by Amazon. Warren Buffet - $100,000 from Berkshire Hathaway.

My point is that all of that would be peanuts. So that means the cost of "free" healthcare and college would have to flow down to the middle class. So now instead you and your neighbors would be taxed for like 99 pct of that cost. Do you want your tax rate to soar?

I wouldn't mind taxes to soar if they superfy NASA's budget so we can start making the big bucks in outer space.
That is just me though, I love space stuff.

Of course they don't get it!

If they did, they would be conservatives.

Conservatives don't get it either. Giving a trillion(s) dollar permanent tax break for the rich and powerful isn't going to solve anything either, those same people conservatives just rewarded permanently are the very same ones who have been paying our politicians to lie to us for decades.

Want corruption in government to end? Rewarding those who bribe government officials isn't going to solve a damn thing and only going to make it worse.

The rich have a permanent tax break while we get the temporary one. Nothing more than a drop in the water to what the rich and powerful have gotten from this Administration so far.

Just one of your examples, Jeff Bezos.

He made $11,500,000 per HOUR this year. You believe he only gets taxed on $80k a year?

What you say in your OP is obvious to anyone with a third grade math level.

It's not about how much you tax, but how fair you tax.

Those 'winnings' do not materialize unless he sells all of his amazon stock. Something that the OP covered.

The thought is that the rich will reinvest that money which creates economic activity, r &d, new companies, and jobs. The jobs will benefit the non rich and the country as a whole.

You must see that the money reinvested is better than giving it to the government to just spend and then come demanding more. An example would be that if the government has invested social security and Medicare taxes the certainly things would be in better shape. However, they just use current taxes to pay for current ss and Medicare expenses.

His stock went up $11 million per hour. That is not income. That stock does not get taxed until it is sold. However if it's reinvested properly, then there may be no tax on it.

Can you give me an example of what you would consider a fair tax?

He only gets taxed on income which would be based on his 80k salary and any capital gains taxes from stock sold.

Good story there.
That guy was lucky to pull himself away from the deranged Liberal cult.
If only more Liberals would snap out of it and see what that guy says is 100% true.

“Once upon a time, I was a liberal,” Straka says in the six-minute video, looking directly toward the camera. “For years now, I have watched as the left has devolved into intolerant, inflexible, illogical, hateful, misguided, ill-informed, un-American, hypocritical, menacing, callous, ignorant, narrow-minded and, at times, blatantly fascistic behavior and rhetoric.”

As for the OP, you are correct....they don’t get it and they never will unless they wake up like the guy in that story did.

Ah, so more "trickle down economics"? How long has that being going on for and how far has the wealth gap grown in that same amount of time? You'd be surprised to see just how little "trickle down economics" has actually done to help the middle class.

You'd think that if this Administration was actually trying to help the middle class they'd be giving THEM the permanent tax breaks, not the already ultra-wealthy. Trump and those who support the permanent tax break for the wealthy are either delusional and/or in denial. Either way it's naive to think the wealthy will somehow spread their wealth to anyone but themselves and their cronies.

Taxes?

What liberals really don’t get is that Americans don’t want to be ruled over in a feudalistic society. But maybe some of them do and realize all those scary guns would really be used to correct that situation if it occurred rather quickly and decisively.

How much weed do you think Americans smoke? We would need at least $2 trillion to pay for healthcare for all. Even if you taxed weed at 100 pct we would have to smoke over $ 2 trillion in wed every year. Lol

There ARE no fair taxes. Everything about even the CONCEPT of taxation is INHERENTLY unfair.

The United States didn't become the greatest country in the history of the world BECAUSE of taxes, but IN SPITE of them.
