Calm down man, when national emergencies happen, you will see and hear the POTUS no matter how much you libs like to say he is not your president

and for the 10th time the alert is a good thing.
people should be informed

Well... At least the U.S has an emergency system in place to be honest.
Britain used to have Air raid sirens in WW2 and that was it. The government has made little to no effort to improve the warning systems here. So If anything out of the ordinary were to happen in my area we would have no warning about it whatsoever.

But I want to see huge mobs of liberals running thru the streets, all in the same direction, as if Godzilla's right behind them, because Trump texted them the latest increase in jobs report.

SMS Recieved 19:37 28 Sep 2018.
President Alert

Danger! hazardous increase in fake news reports!

These are still Push alerts, right?

Luckily for me, I can turn that function off on my phone. I don't get bugged about any missing kids or any weather events.

You can opt out of presidential alerts. They are already a thing and not new to trump and I have my presidential alerts turned off.. Fake news

Not according to FEMA's FAQ page:

13. What if I don't want to receive WEA messages?
You can opt-out of receiving WEA messages for imminent threats and AMBER alerts, but not for Presidential messages. To opt out, adjust settings on your mobile device.

Can you imagine the head lines we would have if this had passed during Trumps presidency?

not even sometimes?

i text more than talking on the phone cause i hate talking on the phone.
i only text to a couple people though. not like i love that either

most of the time now my wife and i just leave quick little voice message updates to each other with whatsapp.
its pretty convenient

Not even sometimes.

If I want to talk to somebody on the phone, I call 'em. If they've time to text, certainly they've time to talk, don't they??

It helps that I'm also something of a technophobe...not to the point of wanting to live entirely without it...but I've never really seen the point of having flashing thumbs.

The last cell phone I bought was just that, a phone. Not internet access, no text...just a nice little flip-top phone.

I know...I get strange looks all the time. I don't really care if people text, obviously...just don't step in front of my car, when I'm rollin' down the street.

I understand and agree that both sides are hypocrites. I remember conservatives doing the same thing in 2011

delete it without reading it.
Thats an opt out. He cant make you read it.

Really. This is a whole new level of triggered.

Maybe if a terrorist attack happens near you and you do not see the alert because you're a level 10 Trump hater, you'd change your mind.

If an attack happened anywhere near any Joe Q Public, they're going to hear about it before their phones buzz, FFS. Look at how fast ish travels via word-of-mouth thanks to Twatter and Fakebook already, word-of-mouth is always faster than official messages are.

Wanna get my attention in a jiffy? Sound the tornado sirens, that will get my attention immediately because it's localized and damn well could impact me real quickly. Anything else, especially via phone messages, is meh, I don't rely on my phone for jack s#. It's for calls, and when need be it, texting. That's IT.
