The study does seem to relate to having fresh blood injected not simply drank and subject to the bodies metabolism, stomach acid.

That being said - I have 'donated' plasma as a teenager as have many people in the past I am sure. Mainly for beer and spending money but still yeah.

For starters the story was originally published by The Sun. They added the drinking part.

The study is about transfusions.

Blood donors would get about $300-350 for 2.5 liters of blood and they turn around and sell it for $8,000. You don't need to kill anyone to make killer profit from that.

I'm pretty sure if there was some evil magic trick to preserving life, health and youth most of the old Hollywood people wouldn't look like they're about to die any day now. Take a look at a guy like Val Kilmer, for example. Not really that old but looks older than he is. Rich people drop like flies all the time.
