Hey there Dave, just wanted to say I'm glad you are still on the case as it seems. I never found any answers that are conclusive and that in itself is kind of scary in this day and age..keep up the good work buddy

I don’t think there’s much left to the case aside from residing to the fact that the whatever it was that caused the shutdown it certainly wasn’t what the government claimed and it was worth trying to push said terrible cover story. I don’t think we’ll ever get a conclusive answer but I think it was a fun mental excercise of a thread and I’m glad that most of us didn’t buy the cover hook line and sinker and did the best we could with what little we had to go off of. I don’t think I played that big of a part but I appreciate the kind words.

The cover story was total bs, and I keep thinking about the picture of an xfiles game in the trash. "Supposedly" placed there by the janitor who was arrested for child porn.

You played a bigger part to me in regards to the situation than you might know, have a great day.

The Sunspot Solar Observatory is assisting in the mission because other telescopes around the world can’t maneuver to look where the probe is going to be, McAteer said.

The for the link worthy I personally didn’t think the observatory was obsolete and obsolete when it comes to these systems is all relative. Some older systems can do you very specialized observations very well, there are some niche systems that have no equivalentlys.

They were built to track and record the tests that happen on the white sands missile range when they were just high tech binoculars in the early days of space travel and missile defense. Now they point them to the sky mostly.

I live in a small town called timberon, it's about 15 miles from where it happened, the very first lie was that the mercury that the telescope was floating on combusted and leaked mercury everywhere, second was that some fugitive took shelter there, and the last was that the janitor of the observatory was downloading CP. all this makes no sense to me because the only reason they would have black hawk helicopters circling the place 24/7 was the circumstance of a jailbroken convict, which we have a lot of because there's a prison in new mexico, most people of which came from el paso, albuquerque, or alamogordo,(some even from cloudcroft, where i go to school)

point is, no matter what they release as an answer, they will all be lies

I still think of this often, the fact that it sits where it does is interesting. The connection to the military and interestingly they were also involved with the NASA solar probe.I keep wondering if something is up with the sun.

NASA’s Parker Solar Probe will be the first-ever mission to "touch" the Sun. The spacecraft, about the size of a small car, will travel directly into the Sun's atmosphere about 4 million miles from the surface. Parker Solar Probe launched aboard a Delta IV-Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral, Aug. 12, 2018 at 3:31 a.m. Eastern time.
www.nasa.gov...

So the probe was in Aug. the closure was

" On Sept. 6, the Sunspot Solar Observatory was suddenly closed by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, the consortium that operates it, without public explanation."

www.nasa.gov...

It's what they do!

The observatory's reopening means that researchers can get to back to doing what they do: staring at the sun. "We cannot wait to get back to work to show everyone the world class research we do every day at the telescope," McAteer said. NPR's Emily Sullivan contributed to this report.

The thread.... it's a-live.

Came across this article today talking about the closure.

narratively.com...

I completely forgot about this. But it's still fishy even today.

It does answer my question about whether the janitor ever got charged with anything...he didn't, as I think you predicted.

However I think as the article mentions, the FBI didn't do his reputation any favors by suggesting his involvement with child porn, since legally people are innocent until proven guilty, but in the formation of public opinion from media reports, that's not always true. I would have thought if they were going to charge him, they would have done so by now, since it's been a year.

a scenario where a young scientist knows we are going to be hit but is hushed by the evil government

Not an evil governnment . Just a govenment
All governments of the world signed off on a UN agreement that in the case of an ELE or near-ELE , they will not tell the people of the event until 24 hours before the event.

Or 24 hours AFTER the event!
