Hi everyone, this is my first ever post here. I don't generally bother with posting stuff but this particular topic has really intrigued me since I first saw the story a few days ago.

I've been bouncing around the web looking constantly for as much information as possible. This thread has been a great read.

Earlier today I watched the video of the drone flying above the observatory and it was pointed out there were two people, and it was speculated on whom they were. Later today, I ran across a video in reddit which sent me to youtube.. the two people in this video were actually walking around and recording things around the observatory.

I'm quite certain these same people are the two from the Drone footage posted here earlier today.

I wonder what the strange smell was that he mentioned a couple of times.
That could be an important clue.

Also, there were quite a few vehicles on the property.

ETA: These people going into the buildings are going to get into trouble. It is bad enough to trespass in areas marked restricted, but entering the labs, etc. is definitely a crime.

So, Buzzfeed just put out an article that seems to contradict a lot of information with some new info. It’s the only major contradiction I’ve seen so far.

Relevant quote:

“The FBI was there, but for what purpose we don’t know,” he said. “They were gone when we got there and we reached out to them and they didn’t tell us anything.”

Adding fuel to the mystery, officers also saw a Black Hawk helicopter, which is used by the military, flying overhead. House pointed out that its presence was not “necessarily unusual” since there is a US Air Force base nearby and the military does train in the area.

“But the timing and location is a very weird coincidence,” he said.”

So, if this is accurate, the local law enforcement is saying that they never saw the FBI in person. Additionally, the Blackhawk was seen flying overhead and is a ‘weird coincidence’.

This whole article’s sudden departure is odd. Here’s the link: www.buzzfeednews.com...

Tucker Carlson just highlighted this topic.

Then he called Michael Avenatti a "creepy porn lawyer" right to his face, and Avenatti liked it!

Now, back to the show..

Apache Point Observatory is run robotic from what I read it needs no people it sends all information it gathers by internet where it is then dealt with by various agencies.

They probably have some unpaid students baby sitting the system and if it finds anything or has an error they check and log up, I’m just assuming here but usually you keep someone monitoring the system while it does its data crunching.

It appears that the Sunspot crew might also be working remotely as well while away from the facility. They likely have remote access to the computers.

Which means they are not blocked from accessing the information on the site.

Last week, ABC-7 broke the news that the FBI evacuated the National Solar Observatory and the USPS office in Sunspot for "security reasons." New Mexico State has four employees at the observatory and the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) has around five employees, McAteer said.

"They are telecommuting," McAteer said. "There is plenty of work for them."

The AC unit that was still running was more than likely for their server room.

So what's the prevailing theory regarding this ?

Story is definitely picking up steam across major outlets. Just saw a tweet from Lou Dobbs in addition to the Tucker Carlson mention. The Google Trends are even more impressive than the earlier one I posted.

I’m not sure there is a prevailing theory. Nothing yet seems quite fitting. I’m currently leaning towards something with the installation’s antennas. Though even that doesn’t quite seem to mesh up in my mind.

Edit: Even thinking about this now sounds dumb to me again, because I can’t fathom why that would require such a small-scale evacuation.

Ok, so main stream media outlets are covering this. They're all likely calling FBI and every person that is affiliated with the site as well as everyone that has ever worked there or even visited.

All of these networks have sources in every agency and snitches galore. The fact that none of them has any new information actually says a lot to me.

I mean, if it was something stupid and a non-issue, sources would just tell these networks the story to stop all the theories out there. But they don't. They stone wall.

If I had to pick, I'd say it's a spy issue....someone gathering intel on White Sands. They're keeping it as quiet as they can in order to gather as much info as possible before spooking all the players.

Thanks for the link. Just listened to it and it was entertaining, at the very least.

I don’t know if I buy it. From a technological standpoint (which is my own little area of expertise), he states that there are ‘gigabytes’ flowing through every second between the NSO, HAARP, etc. This doesn’t wash. Not with that particular location. From what I’ve looked into as it relates to their Internet capabilities, it appears limited. And that’s putting it pretty lightly.

I’ve looked at some proprietary cellular info out there and it’s spotty at best (nearest tower being ~4 miles). From what I could dig up regarding landline services, it looks like a couple megabits per second.

Could their be a private connection? Sure. But that would require a lot of infrastructure for a BFE location.

Unless of course Apache Point doesn't have all the same equipment. That would make it less of a risk.

The other two Dome buildings (Hilltop Dome 1963, Grain Bin Dome 1950) are not used for research.

en.m.wikipedia.org...

They have telescopes but aren't open to the public. Interestingly the Grain Dome has a lot of tree cover around it, limiting its use as a telescope facility.
