Report: Mueller will accept written answers from Trump on Russia collusion

In a letter to President Trump's lawyers, special counsel Robert Mueller's office said they will accept written responses from Trump regarding whether his campaign team colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, the New York Times' Maggie Haberman and Michael Schmidt report, citing two people briefed on the letter. The letter was sent on Friday.

Why it matters: Mueller's team did not ask for written answers regarding whether the president tried to obstruct justice, stating that they recognize the subject could prevent the president from agreeing to an interview. Haberman and Schmidt write that this aspect, along with the tone of the letter, "prompted some Trump allies to conclude that if an interview takes place, its scope will be more limited than Mr. Trump’s legal team initially believed."

Written answers to questions with a restriction on the question topics.

Mueller has nothing, as we have been saying since this sh*t show started.

CNN still can't believe it! LOL. After Lanny Davis made them look like a fool, their entire Trump-Russian collusion narrative is collapsing too. Idiots spent hundreds of hours "proving" that a fire brought down Malaysia flight MH-370. WRONG AGAIN CNN!

BTW..there's another thread on this, so you might not get a lot of responses. Just a heads-up.

I notice that there are no questions concerning the
"obstruction of justice" claim so many have been
waiting for. That speaks volumes!

I'll take 'things that could have been achieved 500 days ago' for $1000 Alex.....

Mueller & Co can then take an additional 500 days to analyse every letter of every word of every sentence of every paragraph of every answer, including criticizing the manufacturer of the paper until there is a new dictionary definition for all the words answered.

Imagine how long it would take to conclude the investigation if all the investigators were required to do for free?

I'm thinking it would all be over sometime between 10am and lunchtime on the first day.

Talk about the dictionary definition of a dog & pony show - wow.

You know, considering the way all these anti-Trump "children" have behaved for the last couple of years, how in the HELL are they gonna deal with THIS kind of disappointment?

Just look at what happened at the Kavanaugh hearings yesterday. These are the nutjobs that the "Left" actually trust to be in charge of the entire country? Are you KIDDING me?

There HAVE to be a few of these people who have at least HEARD of the CONCEPT of parliamentary-procedure, yes?

I don't know how it's done now, but in the 70s we learned this stuff in 7th grade.

They are CHILDREN. Pissed-off little titty-babies that, for once, didn't get their way.

Are you really telling me that the ABSOLUTE BEST STRATEGY that these highly-educated dumb-a**es can come up with is to act like 5-year-olds who scream because Daddy said that they couldn't play with their favorite toy?

We are NOT dealing with adults here, guys.

I don't know who the greatest liberal of all time may be, but I guaran-frakking-TEE you that if he's dead, he rolled over 3 or four times today.

Jesus Christ, seriously?

It's the same thing, Mueller will be able to glean the information he wants from any written content...that would include the author of same.
If anything, it shows that Mueller knows much more than even we think.

You know this bothers the left when you open the CNN comedy website and there's nothing on the front page on this.

Instead, they're still pushing the Woodward's book of lies. Figures...

This can still lead to a "purgery trap". It will depend upon who and what Mueller wants to believe about the answer to any of the questions ask. If someone else give an answer which contradicts Trump's answer, Mueller can choose to believe whom even he wishes and charge the other with lying.

"He just made something up. That’s his nature", Dowd reportedly told Mueller.

Dowd then explained to Mueller and Quarles why he was trying to keep the president from testifying: “I’m not going to sit there and let him look like an idiot. And you publish that transcript, because everything leaks in Washington, and the guys overseas are going to say, ‘I told you he was an idiot. I told you he was a goddamn dumbbell. What are we dealing with this idiot for?’ ”

Ex-Trump Lawyer Told Mueller That Trump Is Too Dumb to Testify
According to Woodward’s new book, John Dowd argued that Trump’s pathology guaranteed he would commit perjury—and that his ignorance, if revealed, could be a national-security threat.

Feeling proud that someone can tell us this about a president and no one could argue against it??

Wrong. His own lawyer said that.

If vanity fair said something wrong, I am sure that Donald's lawyer would find ways for them to eat their words. Until then: Donald dump and his lawyer said so.

How many books is gonna take til we finally get something credible with actual real evidence anything actually happened. I'm sure everyone will buy the book nodding their head as they read because it feeds their confirmation bias.

They're using you to make money to sell books.
