ou might want to watch your mouth if you plan on taking a trip to Myrtle Beach. In the City of Myrtle Beach, it is illegal to publicly use profanity. A violation of the ordinance could result in a fine or some time in jail. The rule is a part of the city’s disorderly conduct ordinance.

I don't mind the occasional descriptive cuss words, but some seem to be unable to speak without a string of profanities attached. Ive noticed some younger folks especially drop the F bomb every other word. Loudly, in public and don't care who hears it. Fined or jailed though... that's way too Big Brother for me.
By making, uttering or directing toward another person any lewd, obscene or profane or libelous expletive or epithets or "fighting" words, which as a matter of common knowledge, when addressed to the ordinary citizen are inherently likely to provoke violent reactions, including but not limited to calls, threats and invitations to immediately engage in physical violence, fisticuffs, duel or personal combat

So in myrtle beach South Carolina you can be fined 500$ or spend 30 days in jail for cussing.
In 2017 , 289 tickets were issued for profane language collecting over 22 grand .
I thought speech was protected in this country ? This is just ridiculous in America.
Why are people offended by a cuss word ? its just a god damm word.
Just saying that would get me fined or possibly land me in jail on misdemeanor charges in Myrtle Beach .
I am so tired of people in power doing everything they can to collect more $$$$ from us.
I dont even know how this law gets passed in America.
