Kushner Cos. fined $210K by New York for false documents

Associated Press did an investigation into the illegal practices of the Kushner family company, and we had this thread where we discussed it in: Jared Kushner’s family firm accused of pushing out tenants.

The city of New York started an investigation based on that report and found that the Kushners lied to the city on numerous documents and have fined the company $210,000.

The Kushner family real estate company has been fined $210,000 by New York City regulators following an Associated Press investigation that showed it routinely filed false documents with the city claiming it had no rent-regulated tenants in its buildings when it, in fact, had hundreds.

The city buildings department on Monday fined the Kushner Cos. for filing 42 false applications for construction work on more than a dozen buildings when presidential adviser Jared Kushner ran the business.

Lying about the tenants would also validate the claims that they were pushing out rent controlled tenants in order to remodel their properties and sell them for a higher price. The article does not yet get into the ongoing lawsuits that the former tenants have filed.

#2 Got wonder just how many of those lawsuits are filed in NYC against other landlords on those same terms, bet it is hundreds if not thousands per year. Its a huge litigation business everywhere. Tenants suing land lords and vice versa.

Question for you: if you do find that there are landlords as shady as this and that they get fined for such large amounts -- how many of them are President's family and his advisors?

Sounds about right, might even ne a whitewash.

Considering the liberal media and the fact that it's NY, they are focusing on extra ways to target Trumps circle.

Regardless, they most likely will pay the fine and move one

Trump family crooks. They should never have let Donny run for president. It was his ego, and he never thought he would win. Now they have to deal with the legal challenges they face. A family of crooks, who could have skated by, but are now under a spotlight.

Just saying its an inherently crooked business LOL meaning politics and landlords too LOL. Just the reality not saying its right, just saying Ive never seen a squeaky clean presidential staff or appointees. Even Carter who was a decent honest person and a well meaning politician had questionable staff members. Do I like that Kushner is on his staff of course not, but I didn't like it to begin with.

Trump has been a thorn in the side of New York city officials since the 70s, so it is no surprise that one of the most corrupt states and cities in the country's history has it out for him and his family.
