Trump, politicians, media, take facts and filter it so their version of the truth is emitted.

That would be your interpretation of their interpretation of the facts - I take it? :-)

Life Under Alternative Facts

I believe (believe) that something else is going on here. It's not that people don't know (or suspect) the truth of this situation. I honestly believe at this point that it's more about being unwilling to accept anything from anyone that is other

The truth of the situation is obvious. Put it down to ego or tribalism, or something more mysterious. People aren't stupid. Not people on the left - or on the right. This is about something else

Truth is just someone's interpretation of the facts.

Yep.

The facts say in the second amendment SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

That gets interpreted to the military and the police being better armed than the 'Free' citizen.

Truth is just someone's interpretation of the facts.

If something can be verified/proven - it's a fact. If someone chooses not to believe that fact - that's a belief

If truth is up for grabs, maybe we should all be talking about facts - and not beliefs

Trump, politicians, media, take facts and filter it so their version of the truth is emitted.

No, that is spin.

Trump outright invents "alternate facts" that reality itself does not include. He also declares facts he does not "like" to be not "real".
When reality isn't sufficiently loyal to his lies team trump sells "Truth isn't Truth".

That is not "filtering" reality that is fictionalizing reality.

It is simple.

It is about self-preservation.

The nature of identity politics is to just that, to conflate your very identity, view of one self and your self worth, with a stranger politician.

It's done through appeals to lizard brain issues. The scary "other"..LGBT, brown people, whatever. It is rhetoric designed to resonate with powerful repressed emotions. It offers scape-goats and it offers safe-space.

Trumpites will defend anything Trump does, because they are defending their own "identity".

They would defend trump as if they were defending themselves.

Who do you find honest?

You're quick to point out how much anyone on the right lies.

So you must have SOME idea who is the most honest.

Who?

Not just the right. Anyone who lies.

To answer your question: no one. No one in the media and no one in politics. I have to fact check Associated Press the least, so if I just want to read I'll read material that is most likely accurate. If I have time to fact check and dig, I'll read anyone.

In politics I trust no one. But we don't need to pick a politician. Heck, if we're going to pick TV personalities for president I say we go with someone like Michio Kaku or Neil Degrasse. At least we'll get some real brains and perhaps even integrity.

Considering that there is such a thing as a perjury trap where a person can go in to be interrogated by a prosecutor and do their very best to give honest and truthful answers and still be prosecuted for perjury?

You do understand that the person(s) evaluating what the "truth" and "truthfulness" of the answers are will be the interrogator and his staff, right?

Only a fool looks at an investigation staffed almost exclusively with lawyers with ties to your election opponent and thinks you have nothing to worry about no matter how truthful you might try to answer. Given how they trapped Flynn into his interview ... I wouldn't put anything past them.

How was that done? I'm not familiar with that.

To give an example when the truth is not the truth the Opie told the truth and yet lied. the truth is that the Opie cut off the quote after the truth is not the truth he didn't give the example that Giuliani did so he told the truth and you lied so that's when the truth is not the truth

There is reason to believe that Flynn may have been tricked into the interview. He did not have counsel present, and no one from the investigation informed anyone at the White House that the interview was to take place. The meeting was recorded and on the schedule, but it was listed as FBI agents apparently which is not unusual for someone in Flynn's position to meet with agents in his position at the time.

Additionally, one of the agents conducting the interview was now-disgraced agent Peter Strzok.

And you also have the conflicting statements about whether or not Flynn was believed to have lied in his testimony from James Comey who made those statements during his own testimony to Congress at different times.

Is that the wrong link? Because it doesn't say anything about Flynn being "tricked."

Are you saying that he didn't know he was talking to the FBI?

Yes, I know the agents who interviewed him didn't think he was lying at the time. Apparently he's an effective liar. Apparently other information indicates that they were wrong about that. Not the least of which being that Flynn pleaded guilty to lying.

Leaders tend to lie at times, or else hardly anyone follows an unpopular decision or order, however they don't usually lie for the sake of lying which is an over the top thing with Trump, why he getaway with it?? Hell why he getaway with just about anything he said and did/ is doing??..two reasons but connected to the samething,.. A lot of his core supporters are really cultish in behavior, the others usually in govt, are afraid of them.

Then what the EFF are people snipping about Russia for?

Conspiring with a foreign country to actually throw or, at the very least affect an election?

Very different from backroom deals within a party - between Americans

Politics is not a pretty affair, and ethics are important to everyone - kinda sorta

I know that the GOP would never stoop so low. There are no backroom deals that decide the fate of their party

I hope you retain that attitude when all the facts come to light. I don't know for sure, but I think it might be a vastly different story than what you think now. Time will tell.
