the more I see this chinese UAV the more I think its just a mock up. I am not a specialist but the rear not look right. The engine bells are not in line with the wings.

the nose looks like some kind of gas ports to maybe form a gas/plasma envelope around it so it can take higher heat?

putting holes like that seems like they would be a spot for heat to get trapped in and make a hot spot if something isnt coming out of them

something like this but scaled way down

notice the exhaust, highly luminous green exhaust

ETA: side note: what if the green we see in another fast mover is copper ions being fed into the airflow to increase conductivity and is ionized by the plasma and heat

Y'know, I'm totally one for 'form follows function' but that 'AJAX' is the NASP cut and pasted.

China Unveils High-Speed Drone That Can Fly for Almost 24 Hours

www.bloombergquint.com...

(Bloomberg) -- A high-altitude, long-endurance drone that can fly for around 20 hours and reach top speeds of 700 kilometers an hour (435 miles an hour) was one of the flying gadgets unveiled at Airshow China 2021 in the southern city of Zhuhai on Tuesday. It can also carry out anti-submarine missions, maritime patrols, early warning missions and close-range air support

CH UAV also showcased another series of its CH drones, the CH-817 mini-attack drone, which is much smaller and which can be carried by individual soldiers or released from a bigger drone. That one weighs about 800 grams and has a flying time of about 15 minutes. “We can call it a flying grenade,” the company’s chief engineer and designer of the CH drone series, Shi Wen, was quoted as saying. There wasn’t any immediate indication as to which governments the company might try to sell either unmanned aerial vehicle.

And that is why I hate when journalists try to write aviation articles. By no aviation definition out there is 435 mph "high speed".

And it's in the Chinese Stealth UAV meta thread already. We are a little faster than the general press in some matters.

Well, if you are in a J3 it would be high speed, but you are correct. 435 was high speed back in 1943.

Hell I've seen a Cessna showing almost 500 knots at over 50,000 feet. And not a Citation.

BUT WHY?

who in gods name takes any aircraft to 50K feet in the first place.

the highest I have ever been was 45K and it was in a fast private flight

what kind of Cessna was that high? it must be pressurized or that is some serious weekend warrior stuff.

imagine binging an O2 mask with you on a Cessna....I would also be wearing a parashot.

Fuel consumption, the higher you fly, the less you burn fuel ^^

And with those altitude, yes no doubt the aircraft was pressurized

I've seen this at another location in West China at a Mountain Complex that needs routine checks. Keeps changing as their are new exotic craft at this location (J20's, Drones and another Fighter I can't identify that has a
runaway-taxiway into a Mountain with appears to be a self contained Nuclear powered complex on the other side. Clearly there are tunnels.

we know they hide their goodies inside mountains, maybe they are using it to shield from prying eyes.

maybe they7 are working on DEW's that use particles only a nuclear reaction can emit

would be interesting to see if there was an accelerator ring near by
