Autumn Equinox yesterday was wonderful, a gloriously cool & clear day. Unfortunately, after my kids came home from playing up the street, they both
had full blown colds going on. They weren't remotely sick earlier in the day o.O
Now hubby's getting his ass kicked by this cold bug, he even called off work (he never does that unless he feels really rotten) He's been kind of just
sitting in a daze, I've noticed he's sometimes just staring at...nothing in particular, more staring through things than at them. You know that look,
the "Sick & Checked Out" kind.
On the upside, the kids are feeling better. The older kid is looking & acting like she's feeling better, though for her, that could be a front. She's
like her dad in that regard -- if she can feign health to avoid meds, she will, that kid is staunchly against meds for some reason, absolutely loathes
even a Tylenol.
The younger one, not so much, still under the weather and dutifully watching the clock for her cold meds doses, despite really not liking the cold
syrup's flavor at all (grape flavoring is still awful, folks. All this advancement and it still sucks) She
really hates being sick, nothing is
more End of the World to that kid than getting sick. Although she's warming up to the spoonful of honey dose to keep her sore throat at bay, that
seems to be a tasty surprise perk for her and works better & longer than lozenges do.
Overall, she's definitely feeling better than she did yesterday evening, that's good. Hopefully this is over with in another day or two.
I've got them parked out on the deck in the sun with a bottle of bubble liquid and a bubble wand, so they're distracted while getting some fresh air &
sun for a while. Hubby's wrapped up in a couple layers of blankets. I think I'll just leave him be, sitting outside didn't go over too well
earlier.
