Just curious about what you guys think about Medicare for all?
Any opinions on that?

No.
That doesn't fix it.

Medicare should be for the elderly only.
Medicaid should be for others with needs, like the disabled.
AND....folks should not be able to double dip with both.

The HC system needs to be fixed, prices brought back to within reason.
Kick out the lobbysists, for starts.

If "they" decide it will happen, the ONLY way it could work is if those under 65 pay higher premiums than those over 65.
For example, if a 65 year old is retired and pays $140 a month premium for A&B, then a working person would pay double or more, depending on their income....so someone who makes $250,000 should be paying their fair share, maybe $600-700 a month.
And remember, A&B only covers 80%.
Then, everyone should be able to buy Medigap or Medicare Supplemental insurance, again based on age. Anyone over 65 should get better rates....the complete opposite of unACA.

Told my parents, much to one of my sister's dismay, to spend it ALL, every last cent!

I didn't want a dime.

Enjoy what they had worked their entire lives for...they owed me nothing! And they'd given me everything i could have ever asked for, just by being here. My sister disowned me (LOL, can a sister even do that???), she was pissed! Just mad as a hornet painted red.

End of life medical care is hugely expensive, and where was she when it came time to pay? (crickets)

My parents lived a good life, and they deserved a good life right to the very end. Had it been left up to others (who shall remain nameless) they would have been moved to cheaper care and killed off faster than they were.

SPEND IT ALL!! You EARNED it, and it's YOUR money!

God Bless you, Mom & Dad! I will love you always!

Lucky for you that I am too tired to properly respond to your post.
Just wait until morning with a full mug of coffee in me...

Maybe all of us old people should just marched into an oven and your brilliant idea of a Utopian world would be fulfilled?

Ya'll whiney youngsters will still have the same corrupt 2 party system many of us old miserable worthless human beings have been trying to tell you about!

Dude, TFA has a solid point. For all the snark the Boomers throw out at anyone younger, they're getting smacked pretty hard by the same crap they make fun of younger gens for complaining about. Except this is supposed to be a bigger deal or some damn thing, because seniority. Maybe a senior moment, but no entitlement aside from You Made It, You Deal With It.

I'm a baby boomer and I'm doing just fine thank you. I actually did well under Obama as many American's suffered... Got my new cars on zero interest loans, got my house on 3.1% 30 year fixed...

Don't think it is the baby boomers that took the biggest hit.

Stupid baby boomers are responsible for the lazy millennials. No surprise they have kept their poor choice decision making.

I'm back and full of coffee...

One thing that I want to mention is...I was taught to respect my elders and this
younger generation doesn't seem to have been taught that.

When it comes to politics it's irrelevant. How can you fix anything if you can't call anyone out for mistakes?

Well I've gotten to the point of 'you can''t take it with you' so a life of quality and not quantity is the better path.

Yes, it seems a good solution is abolishing the Fed (before our money became disgustingly devalued). Abolishing the 16th amendment would be another good step. And re-instituting a gold standard (one based on intrinsic value, not the "Good faith" of any government)

Most of all, lowering the remaining existing taxes (just not unapportioned taxes on income, something clearly barred by the Constitution)

I'll never understand this animus millenials have for baby boomers. It has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever witnessed.

Imagine if they could have kept their SS earnings and invested them. They’d have a bigger nest egg for retirement that they owned. Not some government income that does not equate to your own worth and does not give proper returns.

You liberals, milleniums etc,are the result of some falling for governments social programming, you don't work you want everything for nothing, your parents are the ones going bankrupt because they have your type hanging out, eating food, making messes and a million reasons not to work,so your parents are stretched beyond their means, your type is whats responsible, all your entitlements were and are an option, using an expensive phone, and other cool things are options you have to pay extra for,if you don't work should be last of your worries

About 95% of your posts I have been ignoring and it seems
for a good reason.I believe that you are baiting others to
respond to your rants. You keep repeating the same things
over and over again with no real substance to them. You are
a waste of time and effort.

You do realize all of my sarcastic rhetoric in that post is what's said from your age group to and abour my age group right?

You guys don't even realize that thats how you treat young people. But its ok until that same attitude is applied to you right?

Don't worry when the pension tsunami hits none of us will be feeling bad then either.

Its an entitlement after all. One we pay for.
