If nobody here has the cojones to say it then I will! A 60 year olds mind is not as responsive as a 30 year olds so why should they be allowed to drive a 2 ton battering ram? Or tow something that weighs even more?

90% of the time when someone cuts me off it's an elderly person, completely oblivious that they almost sideswiped me and rammed me into the ditch.

If you need a cane and a dog and another person holding your hand to get around, then please do everyone a favor and call a cab or a friend instead of endangering everyone on the road.

Just because you're about to die does not mean that I want to die too.

Younger kids do the same sheet. Most people shouldn't be given privileges to do anything really.

Age isn't a factor. I've seen 60 year old's that could put a 30 year old to shame both mentally and physically.

If we're going to generalize, then anyone under the age of 30 just better stay off my lawn, get a hair cut, and stop texting so damned much when they're driving!

How in the hell can I cut people off if they're texting all the damned time and not watching me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really ?
Does this apply to all 60 year olds ?
In all aspects of life ?
What about a 60+ PC gamer ?
Do they exist ? As you say there is a serious degradation of reflexes at 60 or earlier ?
What about a 60+ year old PC gamer that tears even teenagers' taters up ? Constantly . Then laughs at their feeble attempts.
Would that make sense in your world ?

Think about it...

I'd go with the first time you can't pass a renewal driving test after a lifetime of driving, and not because of your sight, is the first time you sign yourself up for excess scrutiny for the second try. Fail the second try, and you re-earn a learner's permit that should, logically, take a bit longer to re-earn, considering something regarding vehicle operation was forgotten in the first place to land you a driving noobie title again.

I've watched older drivers consistently do much worse than 15 year old Suzie Q just learning both here in MI and back in FL (FL was a given with the high number of Q-tip drivers) We lose our grip on things as we age, reaction times lengthen, sight fades, s#s to give disappear, etc. The sooner people learn to swallow a little pride and admit aging takes some expertise away by default, the easier maintaining these skills with instruction should be.

Everyone from 16 to 59 should be wearing a shock collar activated by using their device while driving .

If it wasn't for the number of obese people with already bad tickers in this country, this would be a sadistically good idea

Woah there on the 60 years old thing there cowboy.
There's probably a surprising number of 60 year olds that could surprise you in the road.
As another poster said it's not as simple as age, some old folks are razor sharp, it depends if they keep active and 'feel' young.
The others are the dithering doddery ones, I would say 75+ yrs old is a genuine problem on the roads though 👍🏻

Doing donuts on your lawn naked as a jaybird is precisely WHY people judge you.

Only doing that on my riding mower.

It's LEGAL!

I'm on my own property.

Really? I know 80-year-olds who can drive circles around most 30-year-olds.

If you look at accident statistics, young people are FAR more dangerous on the road than older people and older people are the best drivers of all. That's why young people's insurance is so high. Teens, for example, are FOUR TIMES more likely to be involved in accidents. If you want to reduce accidents, raise the driving age to 21.

DB hops in his car, does some donuts on his lawn, gets out of the car and says "damn kids"
