England? Aint that in Egypt or something? Cant remember as it is such a tiny, tiny place.

That's why Britain is such a special country.

For a country so small we have done and achieved so much.

That is soooooo true. The African slave trade, warmongering on a global scale, creating Pakistan and Isreal (two garden of Edens), and countless other humanitarian endeavours like sugar cane plantations in the Caribbean for example. I tip my hat, sir! You gave the US a helluva lot to emulate

That is soooooo true. The African slave trade,....

The slave trade was well established in Africa hundreds of years before 'we' ever got there.

Strange, the UK was one of the very first to ban The Slave Trade.
Other European nations continued the practice, as did the independent USA, well after it was abolished here....but hey, don't let facts get in the way of anti-English bigotry!

... warmongering on a global scale,...

Has existed since the minute human beings formed cities and got into boats....FFS, just look at The Romans etc!

.....creating Pakistan.....

Because they wanted it?
What should 'we' have done?

.... and Isreal....

I have no idea what the options were / are there.
One things for certain the UK and its allies were in the proverbial no win situation there.....as is being proved even now.

I could go on but I really want a pint.

Actually, "The United States" was a result of the War of the Rebellion...nothing remotely associated with the UK.

Apart from the fact it was The U.K. you had to rebel against.

Game set and match.

Except the War of the Rebellion was AKA The Civil war. Might want to hit the Ctrl-Alt-Reset on that "win".

Here ya go...Rebellion and Revolution are close, I know. Its a Yankee thang.

Anti-English Bigotry! LOl
big·ot·ry
[ big- uh-tree]

NOUN [PLURAL BIG·OT·RIES.]

stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Offering historical facts in not Bigotry. However, hysterical responses to threads with overused labels is indeed dumb.

2 Pints?
6 Pints?

Wouldn't bother, not even getting warmed up by the 6th.....and I assure you, that's no exaggeration.

We were taking the piss outta one another.

Yes, I know....its a national sport here.
Its as much engrained in us as The Second Amendment is in you, probably a damn sight more so.

Besides, technically Columbus did NOT discover America first.

Of course he didn't....but what's that got to do with us the English or Brits?

Anti-English Bigotry! LOl

Anti-English bigotry.....the dislike of all things English regardless of accuracy.

Think that sums up the attitude of many people towards the English people....apparently we English are responsible for all the world's ills.

I can certainly see that parts of this could point to the theory being true.

However I think if this is true it happened during the Great Depression when the Bank of England stepped in to loan the U.S. money to keep operating. There is that famous missing book, the 13th book (coincidence?) of some regulations in the US Code IIRC which was theorized to detail that the US is owned by the Bank of England and why certain court and government things are done in certain ways.

And yet its currency is worth so much more than the US... go figure eh?

The US is the pit bull for the British Empire. The UK and its commonwealth spend next to nothing on its miltary and the US is trillions of dollars in debt protecting the central banking system safe. The banking system that started in London... go figure eh?

This whole OP is a good example of "... it must be true because someone made a YouTube video about it".

On the UK's influence. Regardless of the politics of things like Brexit et al, the UK is still top of the "soft power" tables. The language of business is English, the Commonwealth is a force for good, British culture and arts are pre-eminent, science and innovation is high, we have saved the Europe and the world from itself on a number of occasions, we have a sense of humour, we understand irony, we gave the world sport (rugby, cricket, football, golf, hockey, rounders, tiddlywinks), human rights etc...

So NO we don't run the world, but YES we have done more positive than any other nation.
