You think we will see this thing blow in our life time , Seems like it's waking up now days

"Expanding cracks and fissures at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming have prompted officials to close certain areas to tourists.

Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point are now closed to tourists due to a possible safety hazard and park rangers are initiating a risk assessment, according to a statement from the National Park Service.

Superintendent David Vela said, “Human safety is our number one priority, and with an abundance of caution we are temporarily closing this area until we can properly assess the situation.”

Although it’s unclear how the cracks appeared, it could be due to seismic activity in the area.

Grand Teton National Park sits atop the Yellowstone supervolcano, which last erupted 630,000 years ago and ejected 240 cubic miles of rock, ash and volcanic dust into the sky and left a 34 mile by 50 mile depression in the ground. "

That would be one heck of a sight to see a possible super volcano erupt. They should start preparing mass evacuation plans around that entire area. I wonder how many science teams are deployed there if any... I will be keeping tabs on this now I saw the article.

Well, Northeast is looking like a more and more viable place to move.

(I hate the south. Stifling. You can have it. )

Here's one time when I say, show the pictures or it didn't happen... till then, I'll say hyperbole....

I like your OP, what I find not so believable is other peoples claims writing these articles. There seems to be a bit of noise about the fissures, but no pictures of them. Massive usually means something of substance. And I have seen none.

Never the less... S&F

240 cubic miles of rock/ash/dust !!!????

Holy hell - that would be absolutely incredible.

I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around that volume of earth.

Just the regularly scheduled dose of Yellowstone doom porn.

Anytime anything happens there the media rolls out the doom porn. Even when nothing of interest is happening they'll spit out a story every few months reminding everyone to be afraid.

Been going on regular as clock work for at least 10 years now.

I didn't know fissures opening up near Yellowstone was a natural occurrence. Excuse me for being interested. You are right, it's nothing. Everyone should conduct business as normal, nothing to see here. If this volcano were to blow and a few thousand did get killed we can all chalk it up to collateral, eh?

I guess they had it comin' . Good outlook on the situation captain

You're welcome.

Yellowstone is old news. It's gotten to chicken little status. I don't understand how anyone could not be aware of it. Breaking news! Did you know the sky is blue?

It'll go when it's good and ready and there's nothing anyone can do about it. And when it does, North America is over.

I'm afraid it be far more than a few thousand people. This site was created for conspiracies and doom porn. I would be disappointed if I logged in and all there was were trump love and hate in the threads.

I'm just waiting for someone to blame Trump. Then someone will say "But Hillary..."

In any case, I'm in NV. I wonder if I should be concerned. 240 cubic miles. That number is unfathomable. In any case, I hope it's just doom porn. I like a global safe space.

Hey at least they made the public aware. God forbid if it is anything at all. I don't see how this is labeled fear porn.

Although a large area would be devastated if the volcano erupted etc, there isn't any excuse for letting people just sit there and die because it was inevitable.

Cities and states have a responsibility to prepare and notify their citizenry rather than leaving them unto their own ignorance.
