There is a lawsuit against Harvard admissions practices for discrimination against Asians. If Harvard didn't discriminate against them and went strictly on the basis of test scores and extra-curricular merit, Asian-Americans would make up about 43% of Harvard's enrollment, but it's only sitting at about 23 to 25%. Where they discriminate is in the personality portion of the admissions. The Harvard committee consistently ranks Asians negatively to weight them downward and keep their enrollment artificially low.

This has been a big story around the blogosphere because it marks the first time a minority has sued against Affirmative Action admissions practices.

They have lived under dictatorship, socialism, communism for centuries, American freedom is something to be proud of. If it aint broke dont fix it, pffft, outdated system pffft. The left, like the right, is both too vague and broad to accurately define. So I'll say it's not that Asians or Asian countries want good relations with Europeans and people of European descent, I include America and Canada, it's that most of these countries were or are under control because of colonialism. When your people are suffering in name of imperialism, then you'll look to the West negatively. Which is why many Asian countries after WW2 revolted against their former colonizers, then either won independence (Vietnam) or came under the influence of a new imperial powers (South Korea and Japan).

The Left know that in these countries nationalism is usually synonymous with racial pride and identity, as well are patrilineal. A huge, huge difference from Western countries that are both multicultural and highly individualist. So even though countries like South Korea and Japan are submissive to the Western influence from countries like the United States, they still won't accept migrants or immigrants because of low native birth rates or for more workers, nor would they shed their racial identity to become more "Western".

Even if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. The same with taking 21st century imperialism mitigation into words like "Democracy, Marxist, Workers rights, etc." all this from the Western, or influenced by Eurocentric thought, undermines the identity of the very people, Koreans are a good example, who fought against Japanese imperialism, but where ultimately separated by two super powers, the U.S, against the USSR and PRC on the Korean peninsula. But both people are still fighting to unite the other countries into one, despite the differences in ideology and consequences Koreans as a whole will face if both North and South Korea ever unite.

What, "Asians are going to be the next scapegoats", I think we already are. Take a look at Harvard. If you are Asian it doesn't matter what grades you get. We have been held to higher standards for a long time.

I am also going to tell you something a lot of Asians don't want to talk about. Yes we are a "model" culture. Yes there are family values. Behind a lot of that is downright abuse. Physical abuse, emotional abuse. Every kind of abuse you can think of, a lot of Asian parents do to their kids. Sure a lot of Asian are successful and get good grades, but are they happy?

Life is more than just making loads of money are being "successful". Life is short and you don't get a second chance. I was raised traditionally Asian. I choose not to raise my kids in the same manner. In my parents old age they regret being "so mean", and have both said the way I raise my kids with kindness and love is the right way. Change is already happening in a lot of this generations Asians community.

This didn't deserve to be lost at the bottom of the last page.

it's pretty sad when our most qualified hardest working sector of the population is denied the best opportunities to cater to people who did not put in the same amount of effort due to racism
