So I just came across the Legatum Prosperity Index and decided to give it a read. It is a hefty 64 pages but interesting for people who might be interested in such things.
The Prosperity Index is an annual report on the current state of the participating countries in a number of areas like education, social capital, personal freedom and so forth.

This years top ten ranking is:
1. Norway
2. New Zealand
3. Finland
4. Switzerland
5. Sweden
6. The Netherlands
7. Denmark
8. Canada
9. Australia
10. United kingdom

As I said, it is a hefty 64 pages but you can skip through the parts that are less interesting to you.
The PDF can be downloaded here:

I don’t necessarily agree with their metrics, but thank you for sharing. It looks very skewed towards predominantly white European countries.

Well considering the decades of relative peace in Europe, I would say the ranking fits very well.
The Middle East and Africa falls behind but that is surely because of regional instability, corruption and recovery from many years of exploitation.

Their metrics seem to be very odd.
