If Scotland's government was going to spend more on food banks, wouldn't they have already done that?

The problem is , our own government tell the nation we are under austerity measures for the last 10 years
pat freezes to all public sector, Health , Education, Emergency services and all public servants
we have people in food banks , and we have 1 in 5 kids in glasgow in poverty!

yet its somehow ok to fork out 5 million so a "president" (doesnt #in matter who ye are) can play some golf at his course in scotland !

I just dont think that its beneficial to the people of the UK
given we are knee deep in Brexit and our government couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery
we are somehow supposed to just accept it , when people are suffering !

then we have folk just ok with celebs, diplomats , just swanning about the earth in private jets , and then having security because they somehow are "important"

cant he use the US army boys that are already stationed here and give our police a break , and not have to spend the 5 million from our treasury ?

yes they would , but thats the point, we are told there isnt enough money
yet somehow the treasury whips out 5 million for the golf trip security !

My issue isnt really with paying for diplomats, its more that we are paying for them when the money could be used better elsewhere !

Over 30% of your annual tax goes to welfare...much less goes to healthcare, education etc... shouldn't you be triggered by that instead?

So they (the government) weren't going to spend more on food banks regardless on who visits.

a very good point but what has that go to do with , the UK government spending 5 million on security for a foreign diplomats holiday visit
when we are under austerity measures ?

No because apparently the funding isnt available !

the same as how the tories promised funding for the NHS then didnt with the whole brexit deals

but somehow its easy enough to just whip out 5 million for police for Donald !

The question is, would they spend more if the funding was available?

You have to pay for both no questions asked, but one is a laughable amount from your annual budget not worth to get angry about, the other, is one of the reasons for austerity measures...

Do a quick search on US foreign aid sent to the UK. Maybe we should discontinue the aid? Hell, I'd prefer the US discontinue any and all foreign aid.

Foreign aid is socialism.

It's nothing more than trying to buy friends. That has no real benefit.

A practice that needs to end.

I reckon the answer to that is NO

a laughable amount for a golf trip!

5 million could do so much more in the hands of those that need it , not to police donalds golf trip

Why I dont have a problem with countries supporting each other with aid , but I have a problem when foreign diplomats can just waltz in and a country under austerity has to pay for it

its #ing decadence , donald flying to Scotland to play golf , we have to pay for it , we should tell him NO

Bro. Don't even joke about black and white pudding. I fell in love with that stuff while I was in Ireland. It's impossible to find here in the US. I hear tales of places having it. I also know you can order it online. But it's not the same.
