Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel To Be Removed Next Week

High level sources within the Broward County Sheriff’s office exclusively revealed to Big League Politics that disgraced Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel is set to be removed from his position as Sheriff next week.

According to the source, Sheriff Israel is being removed from office for criminal issues, not malfeasance, following an investigation conducted by the office of Florida Governor Rick Scott. The source exclusively revealed to Big League Politics that Sheriff Israel is also being investigated by the IRS.

The high-level police source within the Sheriff’s Office disclosed that over the last several months, four candidates have been interviewed to refill the position of Broward County Sheriff. One of the candidates who were interviewed is Emery Giany, a Republican Florida law enforcement official who is closely associated with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

My guess part of the issue was intentionally not reporting on crimes committed by students to keep the numbers low in order to obtain increased funding. A scheme that was occurring in both, Broward county and Miami-Dade county (where the scheme originated from).

Partial confirmation came when FBI director Wray was testifying to Congress. He was asked about the shooting and he replied saying he couldnt discuss active investigations. If the charges stem from the scheme he wont be the only official to be removed or charged. Several chiefs from municipal agencies in the county and school administration officials will also be removed / charged.

IF the removal and prosecution is for the scheme for more funding.

Crimes unrelated to the shooting is the closest the affected families are going to get to holding him accountable for what occurred sadly.

With that said if the charges are from the shooting itself then I want the FBI office in charge of that region and the agents who dropped the ball several times regarding the shooter to be held accountable. I am growing tired of low to mid level people being prosecuted while the people near the top go unpunished.

Crime stats are some of the most bogus figures you'll ever find. Many, many countries are believed to habitually under-report crime.

Good. From what I've seen of this guy, he seems like the type of asshat unbefitting of the job of Sheriff. He doesn't seem to have the proper temperament and, from what I've read, the correct approach to the rule of law and procedures that a proper sheriff needs.

Plus, unless I'm mistaken, didn't he blatantly lie and backtrack his comments during the school shooting on more than one occasion?

Is sheriff an elected position in Broward county?

I bet a young, smart, ambitious state or federal investigator who keeps his nose clean could really make a name for himself investigating Broward county, if he were so inclined. That entire business just stinks to high heaven.

That's the first thing that crossed my mind... what sorcery is this?

Isn't that an elected position? Who are all these high level friends with friends in office being interviewed? Shouldn't there be an election, with a deputy or whoever is next in charge stepping in until then? I don't know how it is in their county, isn't that how it works?

I'm not finding much on the law on how this works... some states when a sheriff dies, their spouse can step into the role!

The Chief Deputy should be stepping in here, unless of course others are being investigated and removed from office, including the Chief Deputy. We'll find out if that is the case.

In any case, the appointment should only last until the general election in November. Anything longer than that would be illegal, it seems. Everyone just needs to keep a close eye on the appointee for those few months and what is being done.

Why do they get a bigger budget for less crime ?
You would think high crime areas need more funds and lower crime areas wouldn't need as much .
That is another thing that just leads to corruption.

I'm glad at least the obvious are being dealt with,hard to remove 12 yrs of socialists putting their pawns in place,it's going to be like a chess game,when you make a move,make it count,not continued sword rattling

It's a classic case of perverse incentives. By providing monetary rewards for police departments with low crime rates, they created an incentive for departments to under-report crime.

My issue is this is a "suspension", to me thats not going far enough, we dont want him "suspended" we want him completely removed and have to find another line of work outside of law enforcement.......
