Or when the internet was flooded with the "Trump is going to take your birth control, stock up now!" meme.

And just like that, the collective internet has forgotten about "separated" children.

Lol..

This is going to be hysterical to watch liberals triggered across the country...

Should’ve run ANYONE but Hillary...too bad the DNC rigged the primary election for her because Bernie had a better chance against Trump than Hillary...

Man oh man, the 2016 election is the gft that keeps giving...

I bet Ginsberg is next. She's half out the door already. Falling asleep in public....

If Ginsberg passed away, they'd get a makeup specialist to work on her and stand her up on a stick, employ a ventriloquist and pretend she was a-ok.

It's OUR TURN NOW BUDDY! You had your 8 years of your version of "great", now we're returning the favor with 50+ years of SCOTUS RULE! Now bend the knee!

Know what the Democrats are going to do the next time they get power? They're going to expand the court to 9, or 11, or 13, or whatever arbitrary number they pick and add justices in order to rebalance it.

Edit: Know what else they're going to do? Admit DC and Puerto Rico as states, add 4 guaranteed Democrat Senators, and control the Senate for the next 100 years.

This is super great news! Finally we can get rid of all the awful crap that was ruining America, like:

1.) complete roll-back of abortion and women's health rights in general
2.) reversal of non-heterosexual rights and protections
3.) anything related to protecting the environment and/or limiting climate change
4.) further entrenching private prisons and detainment without due process
5.) any Net Neutrality cases will be automatic wins for big telcoms basically forever
6.) states will be free to limit voting however they see fit for at least a generation (no more pesky minorities voting)
7.) workers rights are gone (people are assets of the company to be used as the company see's fit)
8.) consumer rights are gone

So much winning I can't help but think we're headed for the promised land folks!

You forgot child-labor laws.

That's kind of tied into the elimination of worker's rights.

Still a net win for America, now Business owners can get children to man wood chippers and steel smelting operations for pennies on the dollar! Just think of all that sweet trickle down we'll be swimming in then once those guys get filthy rich!

...and yet you seem to be the only person here with those ideas. Curious.

To think that my flippant sarcasm is the only example of this inane idea on ATS is incomprehensibly obtuse.

For some reason Democrats, once again demonstrating their ignorance of how our government operates, think the Supreme Court will preside over some trial involving Trump.

Considering how this site makes a big deal about any tiny connection a judge has to someone on the Left, it's kind of surprising that no one cares that Trump's banker at Deutsche Bank was Kennedy's son.

I would agree, however, the way politicians operate, is that they change the rules to suit their needs and to force things that they want to go through.

McCain is out, probably will not be there for that, so now they are down to one seat, all it would take is 3 senators to vote with the Democrats and the process halts. However, there is one other small detail that every one fails to see, and that is all the Democrats would need to do, in mass, along with 1 or even 2 Republican Senators, and that is simply not show up for the vote. Then the entire process would be halted until they are found and brought to the Senate, as there has to be a quorum in the Senate to make any and all votes legal.

I agree, and then there is the Nuclear option that was started by the Democrats that the Republicans exploited. The saddest thing of all is that both of the Parties open doors that should not be opened up and then cry foul when the other side exploits those doors. It was wrong in the first place and it still is wrong.

I know that, hence why I am saying that all it would take is 3 Republicans and the entire process stops, and prevents the use of the Nuclear rule.

McCain would vote against Trump's pick just to be a dick. The process will be smoother without him. Depending on how much longer he has, he might well be replaced before the elections.

Not to mention when Gorsuch was confirmed by the senate 3 Democrats, contrary to the lie Gilibrand told on CNN, voted for Gorsuch. If a fair candidate is put forward I think you will see Democrats voting in favor. Not to mention several Democratic Senators are in tight races this midterm. Voting against a Supreme Court nominee who is qualified is not going to sit well with voters.

I think the MO Senator Claire McCaskill (D) will vote in favor of a fair nominee.
Senator Flake also announced he wont oppose the nominee.

If Flake opposes Trump's nominee, it will almost certainly cost him his seat in the election this fall. I'm sure Flake realizes this.

He has already announced his retirement and wont run in 2018 for reelection. Democrats were hoping to use the issues between Flake and Trump to hold up his supreme court nominee. When Flake said he wont oppose the nominee it left Democrats scrambling. All they can do if they cant pick Republicans off is to not show up for work to prevent a quorum for official business.

Granted the Sgt. at Arms for the Senate could go arrest them but that became problematic when Democrats threw the same temper tantrum in Wisconsin and teacher unions. They fled to other states to prevent the government from conducting business.

Any Republican that did that, would be committing suicide, likely political and otherwise.
