Great movie but I want to know why I had to end up with the horrible coffee flavoured one.

In the novel, Forrest was actually somewhat of a jerk. The story wouldn't have worked well without changing it for the movie where he was the lovable hero.

2nd movie w/ Tom Hanks as Forest is currently in production I believe.

He did a good job of not going "Full Retard."
