Very.

I sometimes wonder how Im still "alive" after having broken my neck when i was 7 years of age. Coincidentally, the guy that killed me by accident was a close friend who, in this timeline, died about 10 years ago in a freak car accident. Perhaps he is still alive in a dimension where i am not.

Strangely enough, both of my parents dont recall this event at all, and when i semi jokingly said "maybe i died and this is some kind of alternate reality" I looked at my Mom, and she had a real sad look on her face, almost cried, and she simply said:

"Probably."

Reminds me of the quantum suicide hypothesis.

In laymens terms what im trying to say is, Im a ghost, and so are all of you.

Infinity is a tool used by mathematicians to say "I don't know" , the Universe has to be finite else why is it expanding.
As with Galaxies in this Universe I think it likely there are many other Universes in the void , the question is what's beyond the void.

We are getting into an entirely different subject BUT you may actually be far more correct then you think, I remember the air raid sirens all going off one Sunday when I was a kid, now Sunday's are quiet but it was like a scene from an old quatermass movie as there was not a single soul, not a single moving car on the roads to be found, this was in a town of about 10.000 people in north west England back in 1983, now I don't know that this was a sunday but when I read about this the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
en.wikipedia.org...
Maybe we died as you say in another reality but we still have to live out our lives so live in a kind of waiting room reality until our soul's reach there full development or have served there full sentence or whatever?.
Or maybe we are just open minded people others would think more than a little mad.

I have a patient who died 169 times. Or so he says. It is a psych hospital though.

Gortex look at it this way, if a white hole form's it has to never stop existing so how does it disappear, simple the white hole pushed out that much time space and energy that it back up on itself forming a dense enough skin to form a surrounding black hole.
BUT within the white hole is still spewing out time space and energy and the process repeats forming a potentially infinite number of onion skin black hole shell's, between time space continuum's may exist trapped between these shell's.

Chaos theory is just an excuse to continue to use flawed theory's when the quantifiable becomes unquantifiable.

I see that as possible, that example is eerie indeed.

That actually reminds me of something very similar...

On another site, a guy came saying he was from an alternate timeline where a nuclear war broke out on January 25, 1995. He gave a lot of details, including that no one knew why the nukes started flying, and that internet and cell phones were never a thing, due to the war. He claimed to somehow get to this timeline with his family.

Of course he got slammed by most posters crying fake...but that date was familiar to me. When I looked it up, the same reaction as yours:

en.m.wikipedia.org...

The only difference that the OP mentioned was that the leader of Russia was not the same as in this timeline.

Needless to say, some guy from China immediately replied to my realization and got real spooked.

edit: ah i thought you were being facetious, my apologies.

I was once hospitalized 10 years ago. You know what was weird? The fact that they gave me an injection the first night I was there, making me extremely dissociated. You know what else was weird? The fact that one of the workers there woke me up at 2am the first night, while everyone was asleep at the clinic, only to have me interviewed by a woman in a black suit with two guards. Seemed very...agent-y?

You know what else is weird? The fact that a video made by the same producers of that "other conspiracy site" made me lose my #. Coincidentally, i showed my dad the video a day before i was admitted...and once admitted, i told the doctors about the video. They looked for it online, and it had been fully removed, no trace, the day i was admitted. They told my folks I was severely mentally ill, only to be met with my father telling them he himself saw the video...and now, whenever i post on that website, i am immediately banned...

You know what else is weird? The fact that the electronics in the building began to go haywire upon my arrival, which frightened the workers and doctors, and they even had to call in electricians the next morning to investigate.

You know what else was weird? My psychiatrist at the time, who was initially cookie cutter, telling me i was simply mentally ill, began to experience the same weirdness i described to him.

Heh, bizarre eh?

edit: Coincidences plague me daily. Example, just as i finished this post, the show im watching right now, Patrick Stewarts character (head of the cia) says:

"Yes Stan, I was locked up in a mental institution because I was possesed by a demon, but the story has a happy ending. the demon moved on."

How do you know he is not a Buddhist monk on the grand tour of the universe living out many lifetime's OR that possession is not a reality, you don't, I don't and he does not no matter how convinced he is one way or the other, before I learned right was right I did not know the difference between right and left, before I could count I never knew how, before I could spell I never could not read or write.

Some would argue we are the product of the information we are exposed to overlaying a basic template of humanity which itself is not a fixed and completely quantifiable constant but more of a variable with each and every one of our central cortex forming not only neural pathways' unique to us alone but also starting from a unique but broadly the same template.

A better question is what is sanity compared to insanity.
Which is actually which, is not sanity merely the consensus based on what we presume is normal mental function and behaviour of an individual.

And was not Freud a pervert whom admitted to fancying his own mom and then projecting that perversion onto others in order to try to rationalise his own deviance from the norm when in fact it merely showed that he had a cross circuit of some kind in his own mental and emotional structuring.

Yea anyone that claims they've died is mentally ill and should be treated as such.

No, some have. Resuscitation happens. 169 times though ....

Not 169 different lives, 169 times in the 60 years they have lived this life. Twice they woke up in the morgue at Pearl Harbor.

Actually if we are quantum being's then it is possible we overlap multiple time lines simultaneously, if that is the case we may also overlap other versions of ourselves and since they are us just in another state of reality we may cross circuit information between these reality's as a potential explanation for some people's ability to see predictively into the future but of course it would never be reliable.
Also if our consciousness itself is quantum the death of one of our reality's physical forms' would then not necessarily mean the end of that consciousness itself and it could perhaps remember in some rare scenario itself dying in some of those other reality's and indeed perhaps as some kind of quantum consciousness form of existence continue to exist in at least some of those reality or at a pan reality level indefinitely - call it a kind of quantum consciousness ghost if you like.

We can't even accuretly model weather to predict the temperature for more than 2 weeks and we can run models to decide that earth is unique. Do you even know how vast the universe is?

"There are about 10 billion galaxies in the observable universe! The number of stars in a galaxy varies, but assuming an average of 100 billion stars per galaxy means that there are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that's 1 billion trillion) "

We are sending probes to the outer space since 60s. That's 50 years vs 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Fortunately science was many time proven wrong, arrogant and idiotic but as long as they will keep looking for aliens that use ancient tech we won't see anything new.

The article addresses that when it quotes Tegmark. Other intelligent space-faring life may exist, but there is no evidence of it within the visible universe. In other words: if it's out there -- it is somewhere over the rainbow where we will never see, interact or "catch up" to it. Those stars are beyond the horizon of the visible and falling away even faster.

*shrug*

IF that is the case, there may be infinite intelligent lifeforms out there, but they are confined to their own "Hubble volume."

The visible universe is the only relevant universe. That volume may grow with certain technological advances, but it is a hard limit. If the universe is indeed flat, it might be infinite, but whatever is beyond our visible universe is -- by definition -- moving away from us at speeds greater than the light we use to "see" one another. They are forever outside our ability to reach, know or comprehend.

Bear in mind that when we look at the stars, we are also looking backward in "time" from a fixed perspective (our own, circa AD 2018, Earth, Sol system). This is one of the reasons most of our survey's focus on the 3D space bubble within reasonable proximity to our own star. The stars on the furthest "edges" (edges don't actually exist!) of our galaxy are 100,000 light years apart from each other.

**

Honestly, the most complete rundown of the Fermi paradox I have seen (visually) is here:

The ugly reality for ET fans is that there are dozens of potential gates between hydrogen gas and intelligent spacefaring creatures, and we appear to have *won* some kind of lottery.

The GREAT news is this: the galaxy is huge and communications will always lag at the speed of light (unless, *magic*). Therefore, eventually, our own descendants will be as alien as anything we have ever dreamed up in science fiction.

Everyone wins.

Because we haven't found evidence does not mean there is no evidence.

Great. I admit as much in my OP and the article linked does as well. Tegmark even suggests that they are simply over gravity's rainbow.

It's all good and we might still meet ET someday.

But there doesn't appear to be any large scale spacefaring civilization building going on in our visible universe. We can see pretty far out and back in time and they aren't (don't appear to be) "there" yet.

The universe is up for grabs. Go long.
