Envelope' no worky !!!!!!

Good Morning fine Ladies & Gentlemen of ATS staff,

OK, this is getting frustrating, can one of the very fine staff please explain what is happening with the PM facility?

If I don't get alerts via the highlighted envelope thingy, I feel screwed and behind the 8 ball and that I may be ignoring someone, when I am not.

Do I have to get into the habit of clicking it every 10 mins or something?

Is this a transition period?

Some work was being done on the database, and the icon was disabled. You'll have to check on your messages manually for now.

I just check every day when I log on. No biggie.

Dear God, I broke it, was going to fix it, but then I quit.

Work is still being done. It's taking longer than planned, but getting there.

I'd never noticed the white envelope until a few months ago. I do wear glasses though. I always check manually, just like my email. I hate computers telling me things I want to hear at times I don't want to hear them. To each their own I guess. I rarely get messages though. The warnings have become less.

You're doing better than I.

Even with the envelope icon, I still miss PMs sometimes (shame on me!).

Given the situation, if anyone isn't getting PM responses from staff members, and especially if anyone is waiting for a staff member to reply on something major like lifting a post ban or whatnot, please send us a note to staff so we can move things along.

The note to staff creates a thread in a dedicated forum visible to all staff members, so if PMs to any of us are being overlooked, a note should help bring it to our collective attention.
