Portugal Vs Spain , what a great game of football .... 3-2 to Spain 15 minutes left and every chance of more goals.
This game is what the World Cup should be.

Friday June 15th Results

Group A : Egypt 0-1 Uruguay

A last gasp winner from Uruguay in what was a patchy game. While Uruguay didn't completely dominate the game they had more of the run of play and Egypt looked totally toothless without talisman Mo Salah.

Group B : Morocco 0-1 Iran

A cruel own goal by Morocco substitute Aziz Bouhaddouz ended this rather dull affair. Morocco had the better chances but were sadly lacking when it mattered. Iran take all 3 points.

Group B : Portugal 3-3 Spain

Absolutely breathtaking game. Portugal were always dangerous on the counter attack despite Spain controlling possession for large parts of the match. Just as Spain appeared to have the game won, Cristiano Ronaldo, gets fouled and takes a free kick deep into the second half. Bang! 3-3.

Yep one of those games for the neutrals to enjoy. Probably the Portuguese too in the end. Both teams going for it even though Spain had more quality and looked to be coasting towards a victory it just shows you that you can never rest on your laurels.

That free kick by Ronaldo was unbelievable , I think he did some kind of Jedi mind trick on the ball.

What a game that was!
Great to see both teams going for it... great start to the tournament.

boo. what's a futbol match without live chickens in your team colors???

A live chicken is a potential weapon. Especially if properly trained.

I know football is full of twists and turns, but I will brush them off and make my predictions.

So who will win today matches? France vs Australia? Argentine vs Iceland? Peru vs Denmark? Nigeria vs Croatia?

I say France, Argentine, Peru and Croatia will win.

Pretty much agree except Peru.
France, Argentina , Denmark and Croatia.

Can't rule out Iceland either so perhaps a draw with Argentina.

Can't stand this French team - bunch of diving, cheating, wimps. They are the showcase of everything that has gone wrong with football over the last 20 years or so.
Much prefer a team like Australia. Proper footballers and a proper team.
Sure France will win in the end, but they do no service to the game.

Yeah and the VAR is pretty pointless.
Watched the replay of the France penalty a few times and still can't work out whether the defender touched the ball.

Not a fan of VAR it's just not football , I don't think it was a penalty , it's one of those contentious issues that will be discussed at length in the pub tonight.

I do like goal line technology though , that is useful.

Saw the Spain v Portugal game great game and although I hate Ronaldo blimey what a footballer.
Oh and the France game no way a penelty.

Fear saves your ass. If you have no other options but to park your bus and leave everything to chance, it's still possible to end the match in draw.

They didn't park the bus and they showed no fear , a draw was a fair result but they deserved the win.

Ah I'm lucky my service user I'm looking after likes football, I have put in the lasagna in the oven and will settle down to watch the Denmark game.
