A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.
-Thomas Jefferson
1. Restrict some mentally ill people from being able to quickly purchase firearms. Of course, a timely and efficient appeals process should be available.
2. Stronger legal repercussions for parents that enable these mass shooting. In several cases parents have either purchased the weapons for their kids, or left them with full access to their personal gun collections. I don't think responsible gun owners do this as a matter of course. So, sometimes it is necessary to put laws in place to keep the stupid people in line.
3. Maybe a short waiting period between purchasing the weapon and picking it up for first-time buyers. I agree this may cause a little inconvenience. However, someone who is not too well grounded in reality, or dead set on causing mayhem, may calm down in the day or two it takes to get the gun.
4. Some people are just too stupid to have any kind of weapon. Perhaps a training class requirement might be beneficial. It should be free and not take a lot of time. That might also give the instructor some time to determine who may actually be a threat; based on their behavior in the class.

Well thats what a LOT of people in the media representing that left are saying. Its is also what i heard people who dont know much about guns say in person. Granted, just because its what im exposed to, doesnt necessarily mean its what the left in the country think. But if thats the case, then people need to start stepping up and saying "i support this gun control law, but this is also where i draw the line and no more laws after that" because everytime i and a lot of people like me hear anyone mention gun control i think they are driving a nonstop train to confiscation town.
But, i would like to know what your common sense gun laws are.

Ok so I have thought about this for awhile now. I love me a gun show but think that those guns being sold by private sellers to others that the buyer should still have to pass a check.
Gun should have to be registered every half year and the failure to do so could result in a fine or jail time.
It is pretty simple but I never wanted this idea to be extreme seeing as I own guns. I like mine and would never give them up. But I would have no problem reregistering them if such a law was in place.
This type of law could help keep violent offenders always from owning arms and domestic gun traffickers from doing their bid.

First off, we do not need children telling us what laws we need when it comes to the fundamentals of our country. Most of us remember being that age and how many of us thought we were much more intelligent and wise than we actually were. The thing is, that SOME of us grow out of that, the rest join the Democratic Party and put victimized & traumatized children in front of camera's to push their agenda.
