My first and last thread on this topic.

I don't know much about this but I guess Israel is developing a large "drone"

for use in places Heli's can't go.

They want to move production to the US.

It looks cool like something in a starwars movie.

VLTO capability.

Any threads on this craft?

Sorry for such a thin OP.

Yeah a paint job and a few special fx props would make it look awesome!

It's function tho is a great idea.

There is a planned manned one too.

Could it rival the A-10 if armed?

Negative on the A-10 rival. It appears too unbalanced and even slower to even pull off simple evasion techniques. Does not appear to be designed with that in mind.

Honestly this thing is badass though in the fact that it has been applied in operation. This is next gen technology that is ready for the civilian and consumer market. Once production moves to the USA, it will be very soon applied for uses in the national market such as medical extraction in the city. You can land this on more rooftops than would be available to a typical helicopter and even utilize individual backyards in urban areas as landing zones.

I imagine we will see hospitals in large metropolitan districts utilize these, as well as couriers such as DHL, UPS etc..

I mean technically, you could become a courier in your own city even with this thing, or bring even flying taxi services if you keep it under 400 feet before the FAA and congress catch up to regulating them.

I look forward to leasing one of these in the next generation when they have become refined and marketable to the civilian population. I guess we all get our flying cars after all lol!

lol, I typed before I thought.

It could have some close support armaments for protection tho. Hellfires and mini guns.

anyway, it won't take long for it to be weaponized for something, I bet.

1,000 lb payload. 30 mile range.

Or an aircraft with 16,000 lbs payload with several hundred mile radiius and loiter time.

Not even a threat to replace Israeli Apaches.

Yes, and the A-10 has a 30mm? in the nose that slows it down when fired?

It would knock that out of the sky, almost.

It has a 1000+lb load ability so that thing can deliver a lot of pizza and beer!

It would be an awesome flying car, if ya gots the money.

Customize that bad boy, lol!

Who is gonna fly it? Google?

Yeah, I should have known better.

We'll have to see if it evolves.

Interesting.

The video report mentioned "civilian rescue," although I'm certain this is for scooping up and protecting VIPs in residential areas or soldiers on the battlefield. Autonomous military vehicles are on the rise and it would be cool to see a larger capacity one.
