It sounds like Trump spouting more of his uninformed tripe.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think it's time to panic.
This is the end times that was foretold in a fortune cookie I bought at a gas station once.

Or it might be just a negotiation process and everyone is losing their poop over it.

But I'd go with end times.

I would speculate that those 'reports' are designed to increase the internal pressure on Merkel from those auto-making giants.

I still suspect Merkel is playing for the leadership role of the EU with Macron.Macron has swung a bit to the right, aligned/befriended Trump. Merkel counters wih befriending Putin.

Not sure it would work.....

Firstly, Germans build cars in the USA for domestic and export.

Secondly, there are NO USA cars sold in Europe, other than the Ford Mustang.
Chevrolet sold its Opel division to PSA (the French), and GM pulled out of Europe, Japan, Asia, and Africa.
Ford only have a small Ford Europe division now, and they are reported to be thinking of selling it.....
Chrysler no longer sell any American/Canadian cars/trucks/anything in Europe, Asia, Africa etc, tho some Jeeps are still sold Worldwide, that's about it. Like, there are more Jeeps sold in one month in the US, than All the rest of the World sells in a year.

Unfortunately, all the US auto Businesses are going backwards and retreating to the Americas and China....that's it!
Sad really. the US has lost its Mojo.

Well I hope he gives us a break in the UK and only picks on Germany, or France, because well, French lol
Britain is hoping to trade direct with the US after Brexit so I'm all for friendly relations.

I agree with him, too many Mercedes-Benz's on the street. We should send them all to Guantanamo or deport them back to Germany.

So isn't this just imported cars? I've seen people elsewhere claiming that this is going to screw over people working at the US plants.

Lol @ Vauxhall's

They do a great van, the Vivaro, I think it is superior to the Ford Transit, but personal opinion.
...I was at a store the other day and some rich guy in a brand new Jag was waiting to buy illegal smuggled tobacco from under the counter, I thought what a cheapskate, but then s'pose gotta pay for the Jag somehow lol

Ill never part with my Lincoln ( or at least for another five years). Or my Jeep that is twenty years old cuz that old girl has character.
American made cars. I think I owned a Honda for a short time years ago but hubby bought and fixed a lot of cars over the years. My first car was a '72 Ford Gran Torino. I still have the key for it on my key ring. It's worn smooth as silk but you can just make out the Ford logo on it.
