Personally, I found his style a little bit boring, but he did a good job by writing "great literature".
A shame he did never get the Nobel Prize for his works.

Please do not ignore/vilify him or his death just because he called Trump a 'Fraud, The Evil Sum Of His Deficiencies' (one of many sources for this)

Strangely never heard of him, might have to have a look and see what he wrote
As for the Trump thing, I don't think the most ardent supporters of Trump would denyTrump is a bit of a fraud

I've only read Nemesis but I thought he did a good job making an entire read feel like Kevin Arnold narrating The Wonder Years... but with polio.

Interesting writing style, for sure.

Ah, the man who forever made me wary of shaking hands with another man... for the unaware, that's a masturbation reference.

A great writer.

Another complex inner universe goes "poof" according to materialists, like Roth himself. I hope not.

Ah, thank you for posting this here, as it's the first I'd heard. I'm actually in the midst of reading The Human Stain (among other books) now and am amazed at its relevence to today's climate.

Sad news. RIP to one of America's greatest modern writers.
