Europe has no say in world affairs without the US. So I say this is just a pipe dream, so keep on dreaming.
Maybe because the US decides to speak on behalf of Europe. We are nothing but lapdogs to the US when it comes to foreign policies.
It's because of our military might. We can't even get all the European countries to put in their fair share (2% GDP) for the safety we provide, so you should be our lapdogs in my opinion.

i really hope Europe will cut its ties with the US and develop relations with closer neighbours and the Asian countries.
"Won't you come into my parlour? said the spider to the fly".
Yes, Russia has been trying to manage the affairs of western Europe, on and off, since about 1740 (the War of the Austrian Succession). No doubt they would love an invitation to join the European Union and seize control in a more legal way.

Russia will be happy to annex you guys without the US support. go ahead, break off diplomatic relations with us, you need us more than we need you. What would happen if the US quit buying European products, your economies would crumble. China can not afford to buy your products, your prices are too high.
Be careful what you ask for, good thing you are not in charge of Europe, your own people would take you out if you were their leader. let your countries leaders work this out. You do not talk for all your people.
Russia is painted as the enemy because the US wants it to be. Russia does not thave the military capacity to even annex a country with the population of Ukraine, let alone wage war with Europe at the same time. Russian markets would be great for European trade.
I do not speak for anyone but myself in this post, no. People are slowly but surely changing their minds however.

Russia has more nukes that we do. They could level all of the big cities in Europe in a week if they want to. Of course, Russia only has that power because they have to to keep Europe and the USA from taking them over. Russia will do what it has to to protect itself, and Europe has lots of what they do not want their people to be like. They do not want the entitled Europeans to screw up their society. They could easily take back Ukraine if it was their country to take back, they aren't afraid of Europe or the USA. They took Crimea, nobody stopped them.
Wake up, I think you are experiencing a fantasy dream.

The United States is the European Union's largest combined import/export trade partner so it looks like you're going to have to suck it up.
Now go eat a Big Mac and send us some more French Cabernet.

Nonsense. The ideals of coorporation is unknown to the US. You have shown that time and time again.

What do you mean, "You"? I am not the U.S., and I have no American connections.
I am just an old student of history who is aware of Russia's three-century long mission to be "the gendarme of Europe".
Let me see.
1756, Russian armies move west to help the Austrians to subdue Prussia. That was co-operation?
1848 Russian armies move into into Hungary to suppress their rebellion against Austria. That was co-operation?
1863 Russian armies violently suppress the revolt in Poland. That was co-operation?
1956 Russian armies suppress the revolt in Hungary. That was co-operation?
1968 Russian armies move into Czechoslovakia to suppress the "Prague Spring". That was co-operation?
A pattern seems to be developing here. I find it difficult to believe that the leopard can change its spots.
well atleast Denmark hasn't been at war for most of its history like the US has. That would be one thing to remember us and admire us by.

As not all the EU will break off from Iran. Not all EU nations would break off from the U.S.. Besides a few cheeses, I doubt Denmark would be missed in the slightest.
Peace be to you.

"As I put it"? You brought in that word, I only corrected the spelling.
All I know is that the consistent savagery which the Russians have displayed towards their subject nations for the last two or three centuries is not to my taste.
