This is one example of a remake where they didn't just copy the origional, they made it their own and ya gotta respect that.

The original deviated from the source material, Carpenter's version was very close to the novella.

I beleive it was hinted at that the thing was in the black dude in the fnal scene,as hes not breathing-kurt russel breathes visible air due to the cold weather,but the black guy does not..
So chances are,he has the thing in him.
