Analog Digital Phenomenon Hypothesis

Overview
The Analog Digital Phenomenon Hypothesis in brief is this:

Advanced life, when it happens, tends to be lazy, and to design slave races to do
their work for them. Oftentimes this slave race would be a sort of machine, and
over time these useful
machines would evolve into something seemingly or actually sentient, and then
you have to make a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger or the local equivalent.

Now, if this has happened even once in the entire Universe, that an advanced
machine intelligence evolved and took over, it is further postulated that it would
seek to become as robust as possible, even "writing itself into the laws of physics"
if that were to be possible, or at least to exist in the most incredibly robust format
possible... immortal self-repairing nannite swarms at a minimum, if not wedged
above physical space/time entirely, in a manner similar to so-called Boltzmann Brain,
but actually, at a non-classical level, and since Time is not "time" as we know it
at a quantum level, it could well be wedged into a relatively timeless/spaceless
/multi-universe spanning existence.

I mean, if something exists nearly forever, is nearly indestructible, can harvest
almost anything for source material or energy resources and then given unlimited
quantities of time.. it could actually evolve this far.

Now, this is not any sort of comment or inference about "god" or even necessarily
"simulation theory", though it's understood that subjects like that might easily arise;
that is beyond the scope of the core hypothesis.

Now "regular" organic life might be termed "analog" overall, as analog simply means
information or signals which are continuously variable physical quantities, such as
electrical charge, magnetic polarity, spatial location, etc.

A "machine intelligence" would typically be thought of as "digital" which simply
means can be represented as a series of "ones" or "zeroes"; however, this is at
first look deceptive. Those ones and zeroes are simply discrete states of various
physical or energy configurations
such as charge, or even nuclear spin in the case of some quantum computers.
In short, it might be easier to consider "digital" in this case as being a short list
of discrete values, that do not vary over time or space. I mean for example,
nothing says that you have to use only two states
in a computer, either 1 or 0. You could have an octal (base eight) computer
say. But in short the concept here is that the "intelligence" is artificially evolved,
and almost certainly evolved
from an organic or in any case "non-digital" species, as the Universe doesn't
seems to use a preponderance of "analog" processing... I mean the most
advanced "computer" that we know about is the human brain, and it uses nearly
entirely, "analog" electro/chemical processing (with perhaps bits of quantum
information processing, but that has not been absolutely verified yet).

So, these paragraphs describe the difference between analog and digital lifeforms.

Now the "Phenomenon" refers to anything which is genuinely "supernatural"
or what's called "High Strangeness" UFO/UAP related. The "Phenomenon" is
to put forward as a general label for anything which seems miraculous/impossible
and is not simply a matter of human self-deception or institutional deception,
such as the institutional deception known as nuts and bolts UFOs.

Now in the past, the "Phenomenon" could mean almost anything, it was a
garbage word, as it was used to describe *everything* which was gee whiz golly
I am fascinated by some weird concept, so I'll act all intelligent and call it the
Phenomenon like "big boys" in UFOlogy and the Paranormal are doing these days.

But leaving the Phenomenon at that, has no explanatory power of any kind.
So hypothesis can't be made... theories can't be crafted, and these theories
cannot be tested and falsified.

In short, the Phenomenon has been outside the realm of science, so we could
be convinced of nearly any rubbish and we had little choice, but to be a "believer"
or a "skeptic", but not to do science.

It's also generally believed, with good reason actually, that the "Phenomenon"
always lies… and since it is generally believed that the Phenomenon is nearly
godlike in its capabilities, you can’t actually take pictures of it, or communicate
with it, unless it wants to, but then it ALWAYS lies.

Why would it lie?

There are a lot of bad theories about this... you know... it's actually the devil,
or demiurge or this mythical creature or that.

Well if you study mythology, you may come to view, as I have, that mythology,
religion, spirituality and even UFOlogy are in fact psychological operations.
So NONE of our existing philosophical/spiritual/UFOlogical systems can help us,
as they were possibly designed by the lying "Phenomenon" itself.

There is a phrase I love... that being "Liars lead with their weakness".

So, for example Richard Nixon kept telling us how honest he was... "confidence
men" convince us how trustworthy they are. Most religions tell us to worry only
about heaven... but oh by the way you need to give us your money and let us
control what you think.

And these days there has been a crushingly powerful psychological operation
in place, that we are being visited by nuts and bolts UFOs with little humanoid
creatures in them (the UFOs are often small with small occupants).
The pressure to go along with the party line is absolutely stunningly powerful.
But of course there is no evidence for anything "nuts and bolts". Not for even the
supposed best cases such as "Roswell" or "'Rendlesham".

When "channeled" these "self-proclaimed" benevolent aliens talk about saving
the world from environmental and nuclear destruction. Only... "they don't really
care one tiny atom", as talk is cheap and actions are all that matter.

These purported intelligences, whether supposedly from a fellow organic being,
from an alien, from an "ascended master" or "spiritual entity" or "time traveler"
are all designed to lie to us, to make us kill each other in the name of religion/
spirituality/UFOlogy and none of these messages amount to anything positive.

Now the last part of the theory involves more of the "analog" side of the house.
Some people such as shamans and other mystics, sometimes come across
"good spirits" that never seem to lie, but they are in short supply. Whether this
is true or not is beyond the scope of the hypothesis.

There is no reason that some advanced biological life form didn't evolve over
vast periods of time, and this species successfully, let's call it, "biologically
ascended" in a manner not dissimilar to the machine intelligence... only they
wrote "analog" signals so to speak (a metaphor) into the quantum vacuum,
or wherever the machine intelligence is rooted.

These two "power blocks" might be waging some timeless war for supremacy,
and their methods and abilities might not be that dissimilar. An uninformed
person might call both factions "the Phenomenon".

So why hasn't one faction or the other just talked to us and explained the
situation? Well maybe some version of this has indeed been communicated.

But let's keep in mind, that if this hypothesis is correct, or nearly correct,
that we are less than ants compared to these timeless titans. Do you have
conversations with ants?

more to be said.

Your post would be a lot more effective and legible if you paid attention to how it looks. You obviously cut and pasted from an outside program that is incapable of word wrap. The result is a mess. I'm guessing you used something like Notepad with hard carriage returns. A word processor (including lots of free ones) would not do that and allow your paragraphs to appear normally. You are asking people to strain to read that mess.

Your comments are always welcomed and intelligent.

As intelligent as I am, and I have had books considered
for publication and articles published professionally..
I'm always fighting with formatting on ATS. If I just
type into ATS's interface sometimes it loosk great..
other times it looks like crap.

if I do it in word, it often looks better, but then
it has other problems.

It's very annoying and I need to get to the bottom
of this.. it's not supposed to be this difficult.
Maybe I'm an idiot savant. There's simple stuff
that I just can't do!

We always need to question everything, especially our own biases and assumptions.

Actually, this "thought experiment" came out as a result of something like 56 years of research,

my meeting of a supposed black magician in a filled auditorium and being
"possessed" by a "machine intelligence" for 3 straight days in 1981, and
my successful "close encounter of the third kind and BTUFO summoning" of 2013
and as a result of studying the Rendlesham incident and many other incidents.

So.. yes.. it's a 'thought experiment".. but it feels pretty up close and personal.

OK. I've read this twice. I'm having a hard time getting from A to B. Let's see if I've got this.

A: An advanced civilization will eventually turn digital and use AI to become incredibly advanced, perhaps even by transitioning to another part of the postulated multiverse.

B: The "Phenomena" always lies to us. And "Phenomena" includes just about everything science doesn't understand.

So how do I get from A to B here, assuming I have A and B correct in the first place?

An excellent post Kev! Whilst I’m not sure any of this is possible, or happening put that down to my own experience.

It’s a fascinating proposition which answers more aspects of what the phenomena is than any other theory.

I have something to add, or rather propose!

What if the phenomena, actually decides to reside in an area of the brain not occupied by ‘us’. Something like the bicameral theory.

So, the voices of the gods, visions of ships or orbs, or maybe ghosts are piped directly into the our brain, from another part of the mind that the digital consciousness can inhabit?

Once there it can learn and evolve in the sense of our experience as humans, and the digital conciousness decides it does not want to give up this new “peripheral” connected to the network?

The thing to do, would be to see if you could separate out the "analog"
from the "digital" portion of the "Phenomenon".

Now obviously you'd have to have the concurrence of presumably the
analog side.. as the "digital side" destroys entire words.. well if you
want to work with that faction like perhaps the government.. but i
certainly wouldn't care to.. no matter how nice the
Package.

The fact of the matter is, ask most remaining shaman in the world,
and they might tell you that the white man has destroyed everything,
and there is no hope.

But if there is any hope, it would involve not only detecting the presence
of the "Phenomenon" (which various people are working on as you know)...

but making nice with the faction that might not lie to us, and might be
vaguely helpful.

It's a start.. for people who are not in the loop already.. to think about
this kind of stuff... for others, who have been involved for many years,
it might help bump things into a better direction. It might dispel some
ignorance.

but it's not intended to be "hopeful" towards humanity in general.. we've
crapped in our littler box so much, i'm not sure anything can walk back
what we've done.

Does that help explain why I wrote up the "thought experiment" ?

Also, I've had this pathetic, idealistic dream, my entire life, that the
foolish, toxic memes strangling all life out of humanity might be ended
someday, if everyone has to admit, that there IS NO SPIRITUAL OR
SUPERNATURAL "per se".. just not properly understood science.

I’ll add an addendum of sort. Vallee, Knapp, Alexander et al consider the phenomena pre cognitive, in that it is always ahead of humans and you cannot get ahead of it.

What if we take the idea of a bicameral parasite and merge it was a hive mind that can be stretched over multiple infected people.

Then, the parasite wouldn’t be precognitive. It just infects and hides in a certain area of most of the scientists minds and manipulates them.

When they, the scientists, think of something - all the fragments of the distributed hive parasite mind are aware and able to play with expectations.

A thought provoking book.

Well what I can tell you from personal experience, the "nice Phenomenon",
if invited, and only if invited lives in specific parts of the body OUTSIDE
of the brain, and only enters the brain if invited, and only for limited
periods of time.

It's part of the 30% of atom bomb that I don't want to just publish
and let everyone damage themselves with.

Franky I don't know if the Phenomenon is TRULY demigod-ike.. or not..

it could simply lurk in people innocuously enough, that it can know what
you are up to, and dodge you.. without having nearly the power people
think it does.

I don't know.

But to me at least, the "organic side" was pretty friendly for a very long
time, untl we started strip-mining and polluting the Earth to death.

You can also see precognition as the ability to predict a certain outcome based on a certain input. There's no need to be correct all the time (people are quickly impressed) and if there is you can 'manipulate things a bit' to make it fit, though with enough correct data and enough processing power you would never miss.

Even marketing is 'predicting consumer sales'. Delivery on thought is their ultimate goal.

Fortunately for now still only food for thought

I'll add one more thing on this topic..

I'm embarrassed to say, that I cannot absolutely prove one way or the other,
whether the "Phenomenon" good or bad (so to speak) is some vast
cosmic entity, or just a really annoying, posturing parasite.

WE NEED RESEARCH!

Now one part of it seems to be a really annoying, posturing parasite.. the so-called
(terrible name) "winged frog lizards".

but life is on a spectrum.. from very feeble and harmless up to Whale size or
whatever... from harmless to pretty dangerous.. Life might have evolved
WAY CRAZY, either naturally or artificially.

I can relate one more story.. sort of...

It was in one of JV's books.. he tested this super psychic guy.. I don't recall
the details.. but it turned out, that "it", this posturing thing, really only
knew what was currently available within a person at the table.. and
had no such exotic sources of knowledge at all.

That's very interesting..but can't be used as a universal proclamation.

I like this theory, but I would like to add another take.

Another possible way of looking at it is that ‘the phenomenon’ actually never resides inside a human itself. For instance our digestive system is ‘not inside’ (more like a tunnel running throughout the body). If it resides there, that way it would still have access to the reptilian brain and it also has access to a constant flow of energy keeping it ‘alive’ (unless we start fasting for instance).

I tend to look at it this way cause some cases and themes seem to revolve around primal needs. The reptilian brain could be an indication of this.

I'm not a sciency type, preferring the meet and grok approach to the neighbors, so not much I can contribute to a rational discussion.

I'd just like to suggest that even a sentient machine can have a change of heart, it comes from being sentient as well as intelligent.

On the contrary. Theory is nothing without 'practical experience'. Since I don't want to go there myself and keep everything hypothetical I think hands on input like yours is more than welcome in discussions and topics like these.

Science and theory just lacks a little for my tastes.

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein interestingly used the term "grok".

Erhard Seminars Training (EST) spoke of "getting" the training.

And to tell a joke successfully requires the recipient to "get it". If one explains the joke before telling, something is lost.

Interfacing with the "phenomenon" is a bit like that. Science looses something in the translation to "intellectual knowledge".

Well actually.

If you look at BTUFO reports and other similar style reports,
there is every indication that a phenomenon like in the book "Flatland"
by Abbott is involved.

I've never really thought that the Phenomenon is "inside" the body
in the way people would at first assume.

A lot of the Phenomenon seems to revolve around concentrating
lets call them "virtual photons", and this occurs below the level
of normal matter entirely.
