You still haven't answered my question -- why do we have to prove our statements in a court of law but not when it comes to religion? Why is religious faith 'assumed' and accusations of crime required to provide evidence?

Correct and that's exactly NOT how it works. I believe atoms exist because we have a cornucopia of experiments and tests to prove they do.

I cannot see a bacteria with my naked eye. But I do not disbelieve in its existence. Why? Because we can prove it exists. Same with molecules, atoms, electrons, protons, neutrons.

Your argument is pretty messed up.

obviously you don't get it, you could not always prove those things and for the plane example, before someone figured out how to fly no one could prove it. didn't meant it was really impossible, it only meant no one had proven it yet and so the "truth" was that they could not fly because it was not possible to show proof

it's the same thing for evertyhing else, you talk about being able to prove it today but you can't seem to think of the time it wasn't possible to prove and so it was considered false, until someone figured out a way

Who's dismissing it? All I've said is I don't believe you as you have no evidence. I'm happy to change my mind if empirical, testable evidence is provided in the future.

And really? NO ONE believed planes could fly until they did? Not sure how accurate that is.
