Michael Avenatti, porn star Stormy Daniels’ lawyer, released a seven-page dossier on Tuesday containing a list of payments purportedly made to Michael Cohen, the lawyer for President Donald Trump. But there is one problem with the document: two of the allegedly “fraudulent” payments were made to men named Michael Cohen who have no affiliation with Trump. Avenatti’s report includes a section listing “possible fraudulent and illegal financial transactions” involving Trump’s lawyer. One of the payments is a $4,250 wire transfer from a Malaysian company, Actuarial Partners, to a bank in Toronto.

Whoops, kinda screwed the pooch on that one sport. Perhaps he shouldn't be in such a rush to throw his claims out there, like some of the MSM has recently. A screw up of this magnitude can ruin a person.

When you spend all your time trying to help a hooker get her 15 minutes of fame and help her failing porn career, you kind of have to expect looking like a boob.

I think it is important to find out who is paying this guy since Stormy said she is not. Also who leaked the bank info to him and now how in the world did he get banking info on the at least two other Cohen's bank info from? Seems rather shady to me

I would place a bet on that except the odds are probably low

The media and their minions are not concerned about the accuracy of their content, they are only concerned with the headline above the content. You see this everywhere, people only go so far as to read the eye catching headline of an article as if it were a summary, and then they proceed to rant about it in comments or replies without reading the content of the article.

The media knows this, and they also know that "truth travels slower than fiction", and they use this to their advantage. They will create a headline that stretches the truth into fiction, and that headline is what spreads like fire. The accuracy of the headline is then further veiled by twisting the facts in the article to make the headline have a double meaning. However, they are only concerned with the immediate impression one gets from the headline, and not the secondary impression one gets after reading the article. Once the truth of the matter is revealed, it's already too late. The false headline will spread faster than the truth of the matter.

Even if the entire article is based on false statements and errors, and the headline too, they never bother to redact or edit the headline, they usually only edit the content in a round about way. They first state the previous false information, and then proceed to state what the error was. They do it in this manner in hopes that the large percentage of people who are too busy or distracted to read an entire article will not make it to the end that reveals the error. Also, they know that the false information is generally more compelling than the error, and stating the false information again will create a larger impression in their memory than the correct information would. So when one is recalling said information, they have a greater chance of recalling the false statement instead of the corrected one. That in turn causes the false information to spread faster than the truth.

It's actually more complicated than this, but its a start.

The financial records of the wrong Michael Cohen were leaked to Stormy Daniel’s lawyer and the New York Times? How is that possible?

This indicates the leak was at the Treasury Department, not the bank.

Bingo.
I think this may have been a sting, triggered before Cohen's offies were raided.
A trap to ferret out black hats and leakers.

I have a feeling that might get a peak into at this point. Not the kind of info the general public can get AFAIK.

This thing is, is any of that illegal? Cohen doesn't have any kind of government position, nor was he involved with the campaign, so bribery and campaign finance don't apply. (I notice they seem to have abandoned the idea that the money came from the campaign, and are now trying to tie it to... dun dun DUN!... Russia.) If people want to pay him for his insights into how Trump thinks, is there something wrong with that?

Yes, and if I’m not mistaken, they all decided he couldn’t help them, so they only met with him once or twice. Not sure what the continued payments were about, unless there was an initial contract for the year. Or they determined he didn’t have the access he claimed to have with Trump and making Presidential decisions.

Shrug, still waiting for some evidence that Trump knew what Cohen was doing.

Well, syphilis WOULD explain Avenatti's current mental acumen.

I believe (suspect) there were contracts that had to play out. Cohen contractually offered insight into Trump, but they didn't realize that pay to play was no longer a game offered by the new administration!
