It was a reply to what the T shirt implied.

What he intended by the shirt really doesn't matter, when you are the minority party and so far your platform seems to be open borders, illegals welcome, and we are going to raise taxes, they really don't need stupid things like this occurring giving bad optics.

It was a stupid decision, for a party trying to mount a come back... that's the leadership at the DNC making bad decisions quite a lot as of late.
