Report - John McCain Wants President Trump to Stay Away from His Funeral.

In one Star Trek movie, the villain told captain Kirk, "For hate's sake, I spit on you with my last breath", just before the villian died.

I thought of that scene when reading this article:

Confidants of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told the White House that President Trump won’t be invited to the ailing senator’s funeral, according to a new report.

Plans for McCain’s funeral, according to the New York Times, include an invite for Vice President Mike Pence, but not the president. The service will be held at Washington’s National Cathedral.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush are expected to be eulogists at McCain's funeral, a source close to McCain told NBC News.

Trump belittled McCain for enduring years as a POW during the Vietnam war.

I have no doubt that McCain saw that as a minor personal affront,

And a serious indication of the contempt Trump held for those members of the armed services who were, and are willing to sacrifice themselves for our country.

It is not surprising that anyone who had faithfully served their country, would take the occasion of their final wish, to exclude someone who would stoop so low as to insult those who serve.

C-SPAN is just like watching "Mean Girls" over and over and over again.

It's his funeral, McCain and Trump have not seen eye to eye on things, they both are stubborn and alpha males to the max. I would expect McCain to say these things about Trump. I am not fond of McCain anymore, years ago he was pretty decent, but when he ran for president years back, he was already declining in his thinking. Maybe he had a start of that tumor years ago already.

I have nothing personal against either of these guys, lots of alpha males and alpha females do not get along, even if they are on the same team. Just watch a hockey game.

The military didn't get any measurable pay-raise under Obama. They just got one, thanks to President Trump. Actions count more than words.

Getting re-elected has a lot of components. Doesn’t mean that he cared about his voters.

I feel bad for McCain. He’s dying a bitter old man. Probably jealous, that trump did what he couldn’t.

This is the McCain that doesn't care about the MIA's left behind. You're obviously not up to speed on who--and what--John McCain is.

You can bet more veterans respect Trump than McCain. Again, you obviously don't know much about McCain and how most of us vets feel about him.

I don't wish death or pain on McCain, but I betcha Trump--like me--literally laughed out loud when he heard he wasn't invited.

I think President Trump is thankful. He doesn't want to go anyway. It would be more stressful for Trump if John McCain were to say, "I want President Trump to speak at my funeral."
