Why do you say Comey knew months in advance that Hillary would be innocent. ( there was no trial btw).

What makes you so sure the documents released by the Trump Department of Justice are genuine? After all, the FBI is supposedly corrupt. Perhaps corrupt FBI agents are serving Trump's political interests now. Once you go down that rabbit hole....

What makes you so sure I think what you think I might be thinking ?

You know what they say about jumping over a cliff to get your conclusions.

Based on this comment, I assume that if these documents are proven to be real, then you do have a problem with what the fbi did.

Do you believe the FBI is corrupt? If you do, why do you believe these "new" documents? I have not read them nor seen them verified, so I have no opinion. You, however, seem to believe the FBI is both hopelessly corrupt and yet believe what they say if it makes Clinton look bad.

Funny how that works.

This may be old school to some, but who signed the hand receipt?

Good point. The hand receipt didn't go missing. That is logged in where I work to a database and the paper form is copied to an E-File as an uneditable PDF.

Let me fill you in. Another investigation is done, uses evidence found on the server and it goes to trial. Hillary's lawyers ask for chain of custody. It can't be presented. Case dismissed. Someone made it near impossible to try Hillary no matter what is found.

So here is my hypothetical, someone commits a crime and then gets away with it because someone intentionally or accidentally made all that evidence useless. Are you not outraged over that?

I suspect Silly is outraged if Trumps Admin is guilty of that but not if Hillary or Obama were the actual guilty ones involved as we have reason to believe.

edit to add

U.S. Department of Justice has given a Platte River Networks employee immunity in his role for deleting Hillary Clinton’s e-mails last year.

Citing an unnamed law enforcement official and others briefed on the investigation, The Times named Paul Combetta as the Platte River computer specialist who used the software program BleachBit to delete the messages and later told the FBI that he realized he shouldn’t have.

Officials from the Justice Department and Platte River declined to comment on Friday.

wow look, the FBI and DOJ covering up a crime... now that chain of evidence has been lost.. they can all claim ignorance

It worked with JFK evidence

Again....
If the paperwork is missing, there is nothing to say tgat the FBI had the server in their possession, or that someone didn't have access to it.
Legally, they had no idea where it was or who may have been able to tamper with it....
So it is not admissible as evidence.

Apparently without the paperwork no one can say where the server was .. so it was legally missing, and physically we have no idea. If you can't say where it was, then it's by definition missing.

Oh snap, not even a participation ribbon.

So downloaded and read this. No not all. Just up to the page that discusses this.
Apparently the chain of custody refers to paperwork. The device was secured at all times.
This refers to the documentation only. Opps someone put this under H instead of C I guess.

Got to be trolling now, nobody can be that dense... if they cannot say with 100% certainty who had access to the server while it was in custody and they cannot now, it is inadmissible as evidence in any case.

Give me a break. How many things do we need to assume for your story to work?
The server was right were they left it so you'll have to write in where Hillary all dressed in black wearing a knit skull cap sneaked in not once but twice. Once to steal it and corrupt its content and again to return it to the evidence locker. In the FBI building. Where cops are working day and night. okay. Sounds p!ausable..

Well if i take your keys and go out for a joyride in your car and the car and keys end up in the same place I guess I never went for the joyride right?

Maybe you want to look up chain of custody, it was broken. You clearly have no clue and just want to be partisan. Don't let your partisan hated make you look ignorant.

We don't need to prove anything. In trial, lawyer says prove to us where the server was on date X. FBI says we can't prove where it was.

Evidence is now tainted and immediately thrown out. It's not up to ME (defense) to prove what did happen, it's up to YOU (prosecution) to prove nothing could have happened.

So how was it used as evidence in a trial which you say did not exist? Take your medication this morning?

The server itself was not in a secure zone either until AFTER the COC was miraculously discovered "missing".

Bingo.

You're not getting it.
The fact that the chain of custody is broken makes the server useless as evidence.
No one had to take it, no one had to touch it.
The fact that no one can account for it for 5 months at the FBI makes it tainted evidence.
The problem is with a federal agency that can keep an intact chain of custody for a bag of weed that Reginald Johnson had on him in a hotel room sting... but can't keep it intact with Hillary's high profile server.... IT STINKS of corruption.
