All I see are fireworks and whale blubber lighting, possibly gas lighting too.

Oh and if you find any engravings from New Orleans parades, you can say it proves the US is inhabited by dragons.

Which is why using the modern eye is a mistake. Look at it through the eye of the person from that time.

Cool thread. Those unicorn horns look strapped on when you look closely. Nice detail.

Those etchings were really interesting ! At first you don't see how intricate they are, but when you zoom around and look at them up close they're fascinating ! It does seem like all these strange animals, giants and "lights" are normal to the people in the pictures.

It does make you wonder how many things we think of as "fairy tales" could have really been true history !

Looks like fireworks to me; Catherine wheels, Sparklers.

It's possible to add flintstones or a coating of gunpowder so that objects spark when hit.
