We are set to a system of monetary value...

Giving most of what we earn to those that govern; to do with it as they will...

But paying themselves before anything else...

It is a unit of trade.

Greed = need for possession?

I see it as a form of destructive mental illness.

suffering is the root of all evil, suffering can be considered a debt, debt of whatever it is you wish you had, debt is the root of all evil.

trying to fulfill that debt, that desire, is the first step to all evil acts.

so the key to ending evil is being happy with what you have, conquering and suppressing desire.

To be fair, terrorism isn't exclusive to religious extremism. Violent acts of terrorism have happened over racial bigotry, political extremism, political revolution, and a lot more.

"Money IS Actually The ROOT of All Evil"

Never has a truer word has been spoken.

Even trumps organized religious practice, as a control construct.

I've been corrected on this idea many times....

No... its the Love of money

Yet IF you think about it, every problem in this world isn't about the Love of Money

Its Currency... its money

Poverty... greed... homelessness...

every single problem comes down to money; be it too much, or lack of it.

Hell... I remember a time that i payed 35 cents for a liter of gas...

In 2008ish gas prices were the same as they are now... at over $100 a barrel

Now its 65ish a barrel... lol

The reality is money IS actually the ROOT of evil... it is where every evil in humanity begins... progresses, and ultimately ends in destruction

Its said that 1% has more of it then the rest of the 99%

why do we even question it?

but what can we do?

Nothing...

And Cain killed his brother Abel for which again?

Money is not evil. Money is a tool that can used for good or evil. What is one of the important roots of evil is greed.

People need to stop blaming things for the short comings of humanity.

money is debt ..... pure and simple

A nations strength is not measured by wealth but of the peoples skills and abilities. All the money in the world doesn't make one smart.

What about rapists? Do they rape because of money?

Blaming evil on money is just a way for people to escape fault. People are evil. Not objects.

Money is the new Darwin rule in our evolution.
It's no longer about the strongest nor about adaotation. You have money? You'll survive. You don't? You'll die out.
It's survival of the richest.

I think by blaming money, you're dismissing human arrogance. Before money, was the barter system, and even then, there existed the rich, the middle class, the poor, and the starving. Money is not the problem. It's the love of money.

Nope I think you're wrong because you can't
attach evil to a car a building or money. Evil
can be attached to love as they are both a
construct in the heart of man. So again your
attempt to fail scripture is above your thinking.

I was going to say Power. Money being just power tool. But I believe you have dug even deeper. If God [Good] is Love, then the opposite is true: Evil is not-Love.

Money is a representation of economic energy. Currency is it's counterfeit derivative.

Evil is a moral judgement on an act, a point of view. From the perspective of the universe :
Two galaxies colliding together. How many planets are caught up there? How many lifeforms? How much destruction? One planet will survive, the other will not.

Let's say our galaxy would collide with another. From our biased point of view, the desire the live, we might consider the prospect to be evil. Just because it is a natural phenomenon, it lacks intent. And intent makes something, in our views: good or evil.

Money at best, is a thing, a symbol of stored economic energy. This stored economic energy can be used in many ways. Yet, what we call money: I.e coins of gold, silver, copper, iron, is nothing other than gold, silver, copper, iron. It is the value assigned to it by.... Humans, or better said: certain humans, that turns it into a symbol of economic energy.

It is sought after by governments for tributary means. It is sought after by humans as an assurance for retirement, travel, providing for family, some even try to heap up these stores of economic energy because they love the power and status that they can show off.

It is not money, but people that do this. It is people who make the judgement call for good or evil.

Yet from a universal perspective, it only means a metal, forged in the nuclear furnaces of stars..

I would dare you then to send off all your roots of evil to me. ;-)

I dunno..

It seems to me that at its simplest, currency is just a representation of work done.

The system that we erect around that principle is probably as varied as there are individuals participating in it. We have only explored a few.

I wouldn't even say greed is evil, rather it is the way we go about satisfying it. Detractors and perpetrators both buy into the story that greed must be sated at the expense of others, but that's not quite accurate. And, in fact, is one of the less effective methods of feeding the greed.

Instead, if we were to qualify "success" by increasing quality of life.. the natural conclusion actually involves facilitating advances, creations, and contributions from the greatest amount of individuals possible. In that, proper incentives as well as access to resources, education, etc. will make or break it.

Behaviors like.. a large corporation stealing an individuals idea might very well be detrimental on the whole, even if it does have short term benefits.

The theory you're referring to is "Social Darwinism". It basically said that people who could succeed in society were fit to pass down their genes, while the ones who couldn't must be defective and thus, should die off. It contributed to a lot of atrocious sterilization programs & eugenics programs that targeted society's poorest.
